အာသီဝိသသုတ္တ
Vipers
“စတ္တာရောမေ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာသီဝိသာ၊ ကတမေ စတ္တာရော?
“Bhikkhus, there are these four kinds of viper. What four?
အာဂတဝိသော န ဃောရဝိသော,
One whose venom is fast-acting but not lethal,
ဃောရဝိသော န အာဂတဝိသော,
one whose venom is lethal but not fast-acting,
အာဂတဝိသော စ ဃောရဝိသော စ,
one whose venom is both fast-acting and lethal, and
နေဝါဂတဝိသော န ဃောရဝိသော—
one whose venom is neither fast-acting nor lethal.
ဣမေ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, စတ္တာရော အာသီဝိသာ၊ ဧဝမေဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, စတ္တာရော အာသီဝိသူပမာ ပုဂ္ဂလာ သန္တော သံဝိဇ္ဇမာနာ လောကသ္မိံ၊ ကတမေ စတ္တာရော?
These are the four kinds of viper. In the same way, these four people similar to vipers are found in the world. What four?
အာဂတဝိသော န ဃောရဝိသော,
One whose venom is fast-acting but not lethal,
ဃောရဝိသော န အာဂတဝိသော,
one whose venom is lethal but not fast-acting,
အာဂတဝိသော စ ဃောရဝိသော စ,
one whose venom is both fast-acting and lethal, and
နေဝါဂတဝိသော န ဃောရဝိသော၊
one whose venom is neither fast-acting nor lethal.
ကထဉ္စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလော အာဂတဝိသော ဟောတိ, န ဃောရဝိသော? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စော ပုဂ္ဂလော အဘိဏှံ ကုဇ္ဈတိ၊ သော စ ခွဿ ကောဓော န ဒီဃရတ္တံ အနုသေတိ၊ ဧဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလော အာဂတဝိသော ဟောတိ, န ဃောရဝိသော၊ သေယျထာပိ သော, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာသီဝိသော အာဂတဝိသော, န ဃောရဝိသော; တထူပမာဟံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဣမံ ပုဂ္ဂလံ ဝဒါမိ၊
And how is a person’s venom fast-acting but not lethal? It’s when a person is often angry, but their anger doesn’t linger long. That’s how a person’s venom is fast-acting but not lethal. That person is like a viper whose venom is fast-acting but not lethal.
ကထဉ္စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလော ဃောရဝိသော ဟောတိ, န အာဂတဝိသော? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စော ပုဂ္ဂလော န ဟေဝ ခေါ အဘိဏှံ ကုဇ္ဈတိ၊ သော စ ခွဿ ကောဓော ဒီဃရတ္တံ အနုသေတိ၊ ဧဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလော ဃောရဝိသော ဟောတိ, န အာဂတဝိသော၊ သေယျထာပိ သော, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာသီဝိသော ဃောရဝိသော, န အာဂတဝိသော; တထူပမာဟံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဣမံ ပုဂ္ဂလံ ဝဒါမိ၊
And how is a person’s venom lethal but not fast-acting? It’s when a person is not often angry, but their anger lingers for a long time.
ကထဉ္စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလော အာဂတဝိသော စ ဟောတိ ဃောရဝိသော စ? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စော ပုဂ္ဂလော အဘိဏှံ ကုဇ္ဈတိ၊ သော စ ခွဿ ကောဓော ဒီဃရတ္တံ အနုသေတိ၊ ဧဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလော အာဂတဝိသော စ ဟောတိ ဃောရဝိသော စ၊ သေယျထာပိ သော, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာသီဝိသော အာဂတဝိသော စ ဃောရဝိသော စ; တထူပမာဟံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဣမံ ပုဂ္ဂလံ ဝဒါမိ၊
And how is a person’s venom both fast-acting and lethal? It’s when a person is often angry, and their anger lingers for a long time.

And how is a person’s venom neither fast-acting nor lethal? It’s when a person is not often angry, and their anger doesn’t linger long.
ဣမေ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, စတ္တာရော အာသီဝိသူပမာ ပုဂ္ဂလာ သန္တော သံဝိဇ္ဇမာနာ လောကသ္မိန်”တိ၊
These four people similar to vipers are found in the world.”
