အမ္ဗသုတ္တ
Mangoes
“စတ္တာရိမာနိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အမ္ဗာနိ၊ ကတမာနိ စတ္တာရိ?
“Bhikkhus, there are these four mangoes. What four?
အာမံ ပက္ကဝဏ္ဏိ,
One is unripe but seems ripe,
ပက္ကံ အာမဝဏ္ဏိ,
one is ripe but seems unripe,
အာမံ အာမဝဏ္ဏိ,
one is unripe and seems unripe, and
ပက္ကံ ပက္ကဝဏ္ဏိ—
one is ripe and seems ripe.
ဣမာနိ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, စတ္တာရိ အမ္ဗာနိ၊
These are the four mangoes.
ဧဝမေဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, စတ္တာရော အမ္ဗူပမာ ပုဂ္ဂလာ သန္တော သံဝိဇ္ဇမာနာ လောကသ္မိံ၊ ကတမေ စတ္တာရော?
In the same way, these four people similar to mangoes are found in the world. What four?
အာမော ပက္ကဝဏ္ဏီ,
One is unripe but seems ripe,
ပက္ကော အာမဝဏ္ဏီ,
one is ripe but seems unripe,
အာမော အာမဝဏ္ဏီ,
one is unripe and seems unripe, and
ပက္ကော ပက္ကဝဏ္ဏီ၊
one is ripe and seems ripe.
ကထဉ္စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလော အာမော ဟောတိ ပက္ကဝဏ္ဏီ? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စဿ ပုဂ္ဂလဿ ပါသာဒိကံ ဟောတိ အဘိက္ကန္တံ ပဋိက္ကန္တံ အာလောကိတံ ဝိလောကိတံ သမိဉ္ဇိတံ ပသာရိတံ သင်္ဃာဋိပတ္တစီဝရဓာရဏံ၊ သော ‘ဣဒံ ဒုက္ခန်'တိ ယထာဘူတံ နပ္ပဇာနာတိ …ပေ… ‘အယံ ဒုက္ခနိရောဓဂါမိနီ ပဋိပဒါ'တိ ယထာဘူတံ နပ္ပဇာနာတိ၊ ဧဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလော အာမော ဟောတိ ပက္ကဝဏ္ဏီ၊ သေယျထာပိ တံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အမ္ဗံ အာမံ ပက္ကဝဏ္ဏိ; တထူပမာဟံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဣမံ ပုဂ္ဂလံ ဝဒါမိ၊
And how is a person unripe but seems ripe? It’s when a person is impressive when going out and coming back, when looking ahead and aside, when bending and extending the limbs, and when bearing the outer robe, bowl and robes. But they don’t really understand: ‘This is suffering’ … ‘This is the origin of suffering’ … ‘This is the cessation of suffering’ … ‘This is the practice that leads to the cessation of suffering’. That’s how a person is unripe but seems ripe. That person is like a mango that’s unripe but seems ripe, I say.
ကထဉ္စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလော ပက္ကော ဟောတိ အာမဝဏ္ဏီ? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စဿ ပုဂ္ဂလဿ န ပါသာဒိကံ ဟောတိ အဘိက္ကန္တံ ပဋိက္ကန္တံ အာလောကိတံ ဝိလောကိတံ သမိဉ္ဇိတံ ပသာရိတံ သင်္ဃာဋိပတ္တစီဝရဓာရဏံ၊ သော ‘ဣဒံ ဒုက္ခန်'တိ ယထာဘူတံ ပဇာနာတိ …ပေ… ‘အယံ ဒုက္ခနိရောဓဂါမိနီ ပဋိပဒါ'တိ ယထာဘူတံ ပဇာနာတိ၊ ဧဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလော ပက္ကော ဟောတိ အာမဝဏ္ဏီ၊ သေယျထာပိ တံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အမ္ဗံ ပက္ကံ အာမဝဏ္ဏိ; တထူပမာဟံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဣမံ ပုဂ္ဂလံ ဝဒါမိ၊
