Transgression
សាវត្ថិយំ …បេ… អារាមេ។
At Sāvatthī.
តេន ខោ បន សមយេន ទ្វេ ភិក្ខូ សម្បយោជេសុំ។ តត្រេកោ ភិក្ខុ អច្ចសរា។ អថ ខោ សោ ភិក្ខុ តស្ស ភិក្ខុនោ សន្តិកេ អច្ចយំ អច្ចយតោ ទេសេតិ; សោ ភិក្ខុ នប្បដិគ្គណ្ហាតិ។ អថ ខោ សម្ពហុលា ភិក្ខូ យេន ភគវា តេនុបសង្កមិំសុ; ឧបសង្កមិត្វា ភគវន្តំ អភិវាទេត្វា ឯកមន្តំ និសីទិំសុ។ ឯកមន្តំ និសិន្នា ខោ តេ ភិក្ខូ ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោចុំ: “ឥធ, ភន្តេ, ទ្វេ ភិក្ខូ សម្បយោជេសុំ, តត្រេកោ ភិក្ខុ អច្ចសរា។ អថ ខោ សោ, ភន្តេ, ភិក្ខុ តស្ស ភិក្ខុនោ សន្តិកេ អច្ចយំ អច្ចយតោ ទេសេតិ, សោ ភិក្ខុ នប្បដិគ្គណ្ហាតី”តិ។
Now at that time two bhikkhus were overly attached, and one of them transgressed against the other. The transgressor confessed to the other bhikkhu, but they didn’t accept it. Then several bhikkhus went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and told him what had happened.
“ទ្វេមេ, ភិក្ខវេ, ពាលា។ យោ ច អច្ចយំ អច្ចយតោ ន បស្សតិ, យោ ច អច្ចយំ ទេសេន្តស្ស យថាធម្មំ នប្បដិគ្គណ្ហាតិ—ឥមេ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ទ្វេ ពាលា។
“Bhikkhus, there are two fools. One who doesn’t recognize when they’ve made a mistake. And one who doesn’t properly accept the confession of someone who’s made a mistake. These are the two fools.
ទ្វេមេ, ភិក្ខវេ, បណ្ឌិតា។ យោ ច អច្ចយំ អច្ចយតោ បស្សតិ, យោ ច អច្ចយំ ទេសេន្តស្ស យថាធម្មំ បដិគ្គណ្ហាតិ—ឥមេ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ទ្វេ បណ្ឌិតា។
There are two who are astute. One who recognizes when they’ve made a mistake. And one who properly accepts the confession of someone who’s made a mistake. These are the two who are astute.
ភូតបុព្ពំ, ភិក្ខវេ, សក្កោ ទេវានមិន្ទោ សុធម្មាយំ សភាយំ ទេវេ តាវតិំសេ អនុនយមានោ តាយំ វេលាយំ ឥមំ គាថំ អភាសិ:
Once upon a time, bhikkhus, Sakka, lord of gods, guiding the gods of the Thirty-Three, recited this verse:
‘កោធោ វោ វសមាយាតុ, មា ច មិត្តេហិ វោ ជរា; អគរហិយំ មា គរហិត្ថ, មា ច ភាសិត្ថ បេសុណំ; អថ បាបជនំ កោធោ, បព្ពតោវាភិមទ្ទតីៜ”តិ។
‘Control your anger; don’t let friendships decay. Don’t blame the blameless, and don’t say divisive things. For anger crushes bad people like a mountain.’”
