A Question About Craving
“‘တဏှာ, တဏှာ'တိ, အာဝုသော သာရိပုတ္တ, ဝုစ္စတိ၊ ကတမာ နု ခေါ, အာဝုသော, တဏှာ”တိ?
“Friend Sāriputta, they speak of this thing called ‘craving’. What is craving?”
“တိဿော ဣမာ, အာဝုသော, တဏှာ၊ ကာမတဏှာ, ဘဝတဏှာ, ဝိဘဝတဏှာ—ဣမာ ခေါ, အာဝုသော, တိဿော တဏှာ”တိ၊
“Friend, there are these three cravings. Craving for sensual pleasures, craving to continue existence, and craving to end existence. These are the three cravings.”
“အတ္ထိ ပနာဝုသော, မဂ္ဂေါ အတ္ထိ ပဋိပဒါ, ဧတာသံ တဏှာနံ ပဟာနာယာ”တိ?
“But, friend, is there a path and a practice for completely understanding these cravings?”
“အတ္ထိ ခေါ, အာဝုသော, မဂ္ဂေါ အတ္ထိ ပဋိပဒါ, ဧတာသံ တဏှာနံ ပဟာနာယာ”တိ၊
“There is.” …
“ကတမော ပနာဝုသော, မဂ္ဂေါ ကတမာ ပဋိပဒါ, ဧတာသံ တဏှာနံ ပဟာနာယာ”တိ? “အယမေဝ ခေါ, အာဝုသော, အရိယော အဋ္ဌင်္ဂိကော မဂ္ဂေါ, ဧတာသံ တဏှာနံ ပဟာနာယ, သေယျထိဒံ—သမ္မာဒိဋ္ဌိ …ပေ… သမ္မာသမာဓိ၊ အယံ ခေါ, အာဝုသော, မဂ္ဂေါ အယံ ပဋိပဒါ, ဧတာသံ တဏှာနံ ပဟာနာယာ”တိ၊ “ဘဒ္ဒကော, အာဝုသော, မဂ္ဂေါ ဘဒ္ဒိကာ ပဋိပဒါ, ဧတာသံ တဏှာနံ ပဟာနာယ၊ အလဉ္စ ပနာဝုသော သာရိပုတ္တ, အပ္ပမာဒါယာ”တိ၊
