A Question About Floods
“‘ဩဃော, ဩဃော'တိ, အာဝုသော သာရိပုတ္တ, ဝုစ္စတိ၊ ကတမော နု ခေါ, အာဝုသော, ဩဃော”တိ?
“Friend Sāriputta, they speak of this thing called ‘a flood’. What is a flood?”
“စတ္တာရောမေ, အာဝုသော, ဩဃာ၊ ကာမောဃော, ဘဝေါဃော, ဒိဋ္ဌောဃော, အဝိဇ္ဇောဃော—ဣမေ ခေါ, အာဝုသော, စတ္တာရော ဩဃာ”တိ၊
“Friend, there are these four floods. The floods of sensuality, desire to be reborn, views, and ignorance. These are the four floods.”
“အတ္ထိ ပနာဝုသော, မဂ္ဂေါ အတ္ထိ ပဋိပဒါ, ဧတေသံ ဩဃာနံ ပဟာနာယာ”တိ?
“But, friend, is there a path and a practice for completely understanding these floods?”
“အတ္ထိ ခေါ, အာဝုသော, မဂ္ဂေါ အတ္ထိ ပဋိပဒါ, ဧတေသံ ဩဃာနံ ပဟာနာယာ”တိ၊
“There is.” …
“ကတမော ပနာဝုသော, မဂ္ဂေါ ကတမာ ပဋိပဒါ, ဧတေသံ ဩဃာနံ ပဟာနာယာ”တိ? “အယမေဝ ခေါ, အာဝုသော, အရိယော အဋ္ဌင်္ဂိကော မဂ္ဂေါ, ဧတေသံ ဩဃာနံ ပဟာနာယ, သေယျထိဒံ—သမ္မာဒိဋ္ဌိ …ပေ… သမ္မာသမာဓိ၊ အယံ ခေါ, အာဝုသော, မဂ္ဂေါ အယံ ပဋိပဒါ, ဧတေသံ ဩဃာနံ ပဟာနာယာ”တိ၊ “ဘဒ္ဒကော, အာဝုသော, မဂ္ဂေါ ဘဒ္ဒိကာ ပဋိပဒါ, ဧတေသံ ဩဃာနံ ပဟာနာယ၊ အလဉ္စ ပနာဝုသော သာရိပုတ္တ, အပ္ပမာဒါယာ”တိ၊
