สมาธิปริกฺขารสุตฺต
Prerequisites for Samādhi
“สตฺติเม, ภิกฺขเว, สมาธิปริกฺขาราฯ กตเม สตฺต? สมฺมาทิฏฺฐิ, สมฺมาสงฺกปฺโป, สมฺมาวาจา, สมฺมากมฺมนฺโต, สมฺมาอาชีโว, สมฺมาวายาโม, สมฺมาสติฯ ยา โข, ภิกฺขเว, อิเมหิ สตฺตหงฺเคหิ จิตฺตเสฺสกคฺคตา ปริกฺขตา, อยํ วุจฺจติ, ภิกฺขเว, อริโย สมฺมาสมาธิ เสาปนิโส อิติปิ สปริกฺขาโร อิติปี”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, there are these seven prerequisites for samādhi. What seven? Right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, and right mindfulness. Unification of mind with these seven factors as prerequisites is called noble right samādhi ‘with its vital conditions’ and ‘with its prerequisites’.”
