សាវត្ថិនិទានំ។
At Sāvatthī.
អថ ខោ អញ្ញតរោ ភិក្ខុ យេន ភគវា តេនុបសង្កមិ …បេ… ឯកមន្តំ និសិន្នោ ខោ សោ ភិក្ខុ ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោច: “‘ព្រហ្មចរិយំ, ព្រហ្មចរិយន៑ៜតិ, ភន្តេ, វុច្ចតិ។ កតមំ នុ ខោ, ភន្តេ, ព្រហ្មចរិយំ, កតមំ ព្រហ្មចរិយបរិយោសានន៑”តិ?
Then a bhikkhu went up to the Buddha … and asked him, “Sir, they speak of this thing called the ‘spiritual path’. What is the spiritual path? And what is the culmination of the spiritual path?”
“អយមេវ ខោ, ភិក្ខុ, អរិយោ អដ្ឋង្គិកោ មគ្គោ ព្រហ្មចរិយំ, សេយ្យថិទំ—សម្មាទិដ្ឋិ …បេ… សម្មាសមាធិ។ យោ ខោ, ភិក្ខុ, រាគក្ខយោ ទោសក្ខយោ មោហក្ខយោ—ឥទំ ព្រហ្មចរិយបរិយោសានន៑”តិ។
“Bhikkhu, the spiritual path is simply this noble eightfold path, that is: right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samādhi. The ending of greed, hate, and delusion. This is the culmination of the spiritual path.”
