ពិលង្គិកសុត្ត
With Bhāradvāja the Bitter
ឯកំ សមយំ ភគវា រាជគហេ វិហរតិ វេឡុវនេ កលន្ទកនិវាបេ។ អស្សោសិ ខោ ពិលង្គិកភារទ្វាជោ ព្រាហ្មណោ: “ភារទ្វាជគោត្តោ កិរ ព្រាហ្មណោ សមណស្ស គោតមស្ស សន្តិកេ អគារស្មា អនគារិយំ បព្ពជិតោ”តិ កុបិតោ អនត្តមនោ យេន ភគវា តេនុបសង្កមិ; ឧបសង្កមិត្វា តុណ្ហីភូតោ ឯកមន្តំ អដ្ឋាសិ។
At one time the Buddha was staying near Rājagaha, in the Bamboo Grove, the squirrels’ feeding ground. The brahmin Bhāradvāja the Bitter heard a rumor that a brahmin of the Bhāradvāja clan had gone forth from the lay life to homelessness in the presence of the ascetic Gotama. Angry and displeased he went to the Buddha and stood silently to one side.
អថ ខោ ភគវា ពិលង្គិកស្ស ភារទ្វាជស្ស ព្រាហ្មណស្ស ចេតសា ចេតោបរិវិតក្កមញ្ញាយ ពិលង្គិកំ ភារទ្វាឹ ព្រាហ្មណំ គាថាយ អជ្ឈភាសិ:
Then the Buddha, knowing what Bhāradvāja the Bitter was thinking, addressed him in verse:
“យោ អប្បទុដ្ឋស្ស នរស្ស ទុស្សតិ, សុទ្ធស្ស បោសស្ស អនង្គណស្ស; តមេវ ពាលំ បច្ចេតិ បាបំ, សុខុមោ រជោ បដិវាតំវ ខិត្តោ”តិ។
“Whoever wrongs a man who has done no wrong, a pure man who has not a blemish, the evil backfires on the fool, like fine dust thrown upwind.”
ឯវំ វុត្តេ, ពិលង្គិកភារទ្វាជោ ព្រាហ្មណោ ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោច: “អភិក្កន្តំ, ភោ គោតម …បេ… អព្ភញ្ញាសិ។ អញ្ញតរោ ច បនាយស្មា ភារទ្វាជោ អរហតំ អហោសីតិ។
When he said this, the brahmin Bhāradvāja the Bitter said to the Buddha, “Excellent, Master Gotama! …” … And Venerable Bhāradvāja became one of the perfected.
