อปฺปมาทสุตฺต
Diligence
“จตูหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ฐาเนหิ อปฺปมาโท กรณีโยฯ กตเมหิ จตูหิ? กายทุจฺจริตํ, ภิกฺขเว, ปชหถ, กายสุจริตํ ภาเวถ; ตตฺถ จ มา ปมาทตฺถฯ วจีทุจฺจริตํ, ภิกฺขเว, ปชหถ, วจีสุจริตํ ภาเวถ; ตตฺถ จ มา ปมาทตฺถฯ มโนทุจฺจริตํ, ภิกฺขเว, ปชหถ, มโนสุจริตํ ภาเวถ; ตตฺถ จ มา ปมาทตฺถฯ มิจฺฉาทิฏฺฐึ, ภิกฺขเว, ปชหถ, สมฺมาทิฏฺฐึ ภาเวถ; ตตฺถ จ มา ปมาทตฺถฯ
“Bhikkhus, you should be diligent in four situations. What four? Give up bad conduct by way of body, speech, and mind; and develop good conduct by way of body, speech, and mind. Don’t neglect these things. Give up wrong view; and develop right view. Don’t neglect this.
ยโต โข, ภิกฺขเว, ภิกฺขุโน กายทุจฺจริตํ ปหีนํ โหติ กายสุจริตํ ภาวิตํ, วจีทุจฺจริตํ ปหีนํ โหติ วจีสุจริตํ ภาวิตํ, มโนทุจฺจริตํ ปหีนํ โหติ มโนสุจริตํ ภาวิตํ, มิจฺฉาทิฏฺฐิ ปหีนา โหติ สมฺมาทิฏฺฐิ ภาวิตา, โส น ภายติ สมฺปรายิกสฺส มรณสฺสา”ติฯ
A bhikkhu who has done these things does not fear death in lives to come.”
