“စတူဟိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော ဘိက္ခု အပဏ္ဏကပ္ပဋိပဒံ ပဋိပန္နော ဟောတိ, ယောနိ စဿ အာရဒ္ဓါ ဟောတိ အာသဝါနံ ခယာယ၊ ကတမေဟိ စတူဟိ? နေက္ခမ္မဝိတက္ကေန, အဗျာပါဒဝိတက္ကေန, အဝိဟိံသာဝိတက္ကေန, သမ္မာဒိဋ္ဌိယာ—ဣမေဟိ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, စတူဟိ ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော ဘိက္ခု အပဏ္ဏကပ္ပဋိပဒံ ပဋိပန္နော ဟောတိ, ယောနိ စဿ အာရဒ္ဓါ ဟောတိ အာသဝါနံ ခယာယာ”တိ၊
“Bhikkhus, when a bhikkhu has four things their practice is guaranteed, and they have laid the groundwork for ending the defilements. What four? Thoughts of renunciation, good will, and harmlessness; and right view. When a bhikkhu has these four things their practice is guaranteed, and they have laid the groundwork for ending the defilements.”
