“จตฺตาโรเม, ภิกฺขเว, ปุคฺคลา สนฺโต สํวิชฺชมานา โลกสฺมึฯ กตเม จตฺตาโร?
“Bhikkhus, these four people are found in the world. What four?
อิธ, ภิกฺขเว, เอกจฺโจ ปุคฺคโล ลาภี โหติ อชฺฌตฺตํ เจโตสมถสฺส, น ลาภี อธิปญฺญาธมฺมวิปสฺสนายฯ
One person has internal serenity of heart, but not the higher wisdom of discernment of principles.
อิธ ปน, ภิกฺขเว, เอกจฺโจ ปุคฺคโล ลาภี โหติ อธิปญฺญาธมฺมวิปสฺสนาย, น ลาภี อชฺฌตฺตํ เจโตสมถสฺสฯ
One person has the higher wisdom of discernment of principles, but not internal serenity of heart.
อิธ ปน, ภิกฺขเว, เอกจฺโจ ปุคฺคโล น เจว ลาภี โหติ อชฺฌตฺตํ เจโตสมถสฺส น จ ลาภี อธิปญฺญาธมฺมวิปสฺสนายฯ
One person has neither internal serenity of heart, nor the higher wisdom of discernment of principles.
อิธ ปน, ภิกฺขเว, เอกจฺโจ ปุคฺคโล ลาภี เจว โหติ อชฺฌตฺตํ เจโตสมถสฺส ลาภี จ อธิปญฺญาธมฺมวิปสฺสนายฯ
One person has both internal serenity of heart, and the higher wisdom of discernment of principles.
อิเม โข, ภิกฺขเว, จตฺตาโร ปุคฺคลา สนฺโต สํวิชฺชมานา โลกสฺมินฺ”ติฯ
These are the four people found in the world.”
