“จตูหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ยถาภตํ นิกฺขิตฺโต เอวํ นิรเยฯ กตเมหิ จตูหิ? มุสาวาที โหติ, ปิสุณวาโจ โหติ, ผรุสวาโจ โหติ, สมฺผปฺปลาปี โหติ—อิเมหิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, จตูหิ ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ยถาภตํ นิกฺขิตฺโต เอวํ นิรเยฯ
“Bhikkhus, someone with four qualities is cast down to hell. What four? They use speech that’s false, divisive, harsh, or nonsensical. Someone with these four qualities is cast down to hell.
จตูหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ยถาภตํ นิกฺขิตฺโต เอวํ สคฺเคฯ กตเมหิ จตูหิ? มุสาวาทา ปฏิวิรโต โหติ, ปิสุณาย วาจาย ปฏิวิรโต โหติ, ผรุสาย วาจาย ปฏิวิรโต โหติ, สมฺผปฺปลาปา ปฏิวิรโต โหติ—อิเมหิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, จตูหิ ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ยถาภตํ นิกฺขิตฺโต เอวํ สคฺเค”ติฯ
Someone with four qualities is raised up to heaven. What four? They don’t use speech that’s false, divisive, harsh, or nonsensical. Someone with these four qualities is raised up to heaven.”
