Who Should Give Dependence
“ปญฺจหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคเตน ภิกฺขุนา นิสฺสโย ทาตพฺโพฯ กตเมหิ ปญฺจหิ? อิธ, ภิกฺขเว, ภิกฺขุ อเสเขน สีลกฺขนฺเธน สมนฺนาคโต โหติ …เป… อเสเขน วิมุตฺติญาณทสฺสนกฺขนฺเธน สมนฺนาคโต โหติฯ อิเมหิ …เป… นิสฺสโย ทาตพฺโพ”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, dependence should be given by a bhikkhu with five qualities. What five? It’s a bhikkhu who has the entire spectrum of an adept’s ethics, samādhi, wisdom, freedom, and the knowledge and vision of freedom. Dependence should be given by a bhikkhu with these five qualities.”
