Footprints of the Dhamma
“จตฺตาริมานิ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺมปทานิ อคฺคญฺญานิ รตฺตญฺญานิ วํสญฺญานิ โปราณานิ อสงฺกิณฺณานิ อสงฺกิณฺณปุพฺพานิ, น สงฺกียนฺติ น สงฺกียิสฺสนฺติ, อปฺปฏิกุฏฺฐานิ สมเณหิ พฺราหฺมเณหิ วิญฺญูหิฯ กตมานิ จตฺตาริ? อนภิชฺฌา, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺมปทํ อคฺคญฺญํ รตฺตญฺญํ วํสญฺญํ โปราณํ อสงฺกิณฺณํ อสงฺกิณฺณปุพฺพํ, น สงฺกียติ น สงฺกียิสฺสติ, อปฺปฏิกุฏฺฐํ สมเณหิ พฺราหฺมเณหิ วิญฺญูหิฯ
“Bhikkhus, these four footprints of the Dhamma are primordial, long-standing, traditional, and ancient. They are uncorrupted, as they have been since the beginning. They’re not being corrupted now nor will they be. Sensible ascetics and brahmins don’t look down on them. What four? Contentment, good will, right mindfulness, and right samādhi.
อพฺยาปาโท, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺมปทํ อคฺคญฺญํ รตฺตญฺญํ วํสญฺญํ โปราณํ อสงฺกิณฺณํ อสงฺกิณฺณปุพฺพํ, น สงฺกียติ น สงฺกียิสฺสติ, อปฺปฏิกุฏฺฐํ สมเณหิ พฺราหฺมเณหิ วิญฺญูหิฯ

อนภิชฺฌาลุ วิหเรยฺย, อพฺยาปนฺเนน เจตสา; สโต เอกคฺคจิตฺตสฺส, อชฺฌตฺตํ สุสมาหิโต”ติฯ
You should live with contentment, and a heart of good will, mindful, with unified mind, serene within.”
