“කෝ නු ඛෝ, ආවුසෝ, හේතු කෝ පච්චයෝ, යේනේතං අබ්යාකතං භගවතා”ති?
“What’s the cause, friend, what’s the reason why this has not been declared by the Buddha?”
“රූපේ ඛෝ, ආවුසෝ, අවිගතරාගස්ස අවිගතච්ඡන්දස්ස අවිගතපේමස්ස අවිගතපිපාසස්ස අවිගතපරිළාහස්ස අවිගතතණ්හස්ස ‘හෝති තථාගතෝ පරං මරණා(අ)තිපිස්ස හෝති …පේ… ‘නේව හෝති න න හෝති තථාගතෝ පරං මරණා(අ)තිපිස්ස හෝති. වේදනාය …පේ… සඤ්ඤාය …පේ… සඞ්ඛාරේසු …පේ… විඤ්ඤාණේ අවිගතරාගස්ස අවිගතච්ඡන්දස්ස අවිගතපේමස්ස අවිගතපිපාසස්ස අවිගතපරිළාහස්ස අවිගතතණ්හස්ස ‘හෝති තථාගතෝ පරං මරණා(අ)තිපිස්ස හෝති …පේ… ‘නේව හෝති න න හෝති තථාගතෝ පරං මරණා(අ)තිපිස්ස හෝති.
“Friend, if you’re not rid of greed, desire, fondness, thirst, passion, and craving for form … feeling … perception … functioning patterns … consciousness, you think ‘a Realized One still exists after death’ … ‘a Realized One neither still exists nor no longer exists after death.’
රූපේ ච ඛෝ, ආවුසෝ, විගතරාගස්ස …පේ… වේදනාය …පේ… සඤ්ඤාය …පේ… සඞ්ඛාරේසු …පේ… විඤ්ඤාණේ විගතරාගස්ස විගතච්ඡන්දස්ස විගතපේමස්ස විගතපිපාසස්ස විගතපරිළාහස්ස විගතතණ්හස්ස ‘හෝති තථාගතෝ පරං මරණා(අ)තිපිස්ස න හෝති …පේ… ‘නේව හෝති න න හෝති තථාගතෝ පරං මරණා(අ)තිපිස්ස න හෝති.
If you are rid of greed for form … feeling … perception … functioning patterns … consciousness, you don’t think ‘a Realized One still exists after death’ … ‘a Realized One neither still exists nor no longer exists after death.’
අයං ඛෝ, ආවුසෝ, හේතු, අයං පච්චයෝ, යේනේතං අබ්යාකතං භගවතා”ති.
This is the cause, this is the reason why this has not been declared by the Buddha.”
