“យំ, ភិក្ខវេ, ន តុម្ហាកំ តំ បជហថ។ តំ វោ បហីនំ ហិតាយ សុខាយ ភវិស្សតិ។ កិញ្ច, ភិក្ខវេ, ន តុម្ហាកំ? ចក្ខុ, ភិក្ខវេ, ន តុម្ហាកំ; តំ បជហថ។ តំ វោ បហីនំ ហិតាយ សុខាយ ភវិស្សតិ …បេ…
“Bhikkhus, give up what’s not yours. Giving it up will be for your welfare and happiness. And what isn’t yours? The eye isn’t yours: give it up. Giving it up will be for your welfare and happiness.
ជិវ្ហា ន តុម្ហាកំ; តំ បជហថ។ សា វោ បហីនា ហិតាយ សុខាយ ភវិស្សតិ …បេ… មនោ ន តុម្ហាកំ; តំ បជហថ។ សោ វោ បហីនោ ហិតាយ សុខាយ ភវិស្សតិ។
The ear … nose … tongue … body … mind isn’t yours: give it up. Giving it up will be for your welfare and happiness.
សេយ្យថាបិ, ភិក្ខវេ, យំ ឥមស្មិំ ជេតវនេ តិណកដ្ឋសាខាបលាសំ តំ ជនោ ហរេយ្យ វា ឌហេយ្យ វា យថាបច្ចយំ វា ករេយ្យ, អបិ នុ តុម្ហាកំ ឯវមស្ស: ‘អម្ហេ ជនោ ហរតិ វា ឌហតិ វា យថាបច្ចយំ វា ករោតីៜ”តិ?
Suppose a person was to carry off the grass, sticks, branches, and leaves in this Jeta’s Grove, or burn them, or do what they want with them. Would you think: ‘This person is carrying us off, burning us, or doing what they want with us’?”
“នោ ហេតំ, ភន្តេ”។ “តំ កិស្ស ហេតុ”? “ន ហិ នោ ឯតំ, ភន្តេ, អត្តា វា អត្តនិយំ វា”តិ។
“No, sir. Why is that? Because that’s neither self nor belonging to self.”
“ឯវមេវ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ចក្ខុ ន តុម្ហាកំ; តំ បជហថ។ តំ វោ បហីនំ ហិតាយ សុខាយ ភវិស្សតិ …បេ…
“In the same way, the eye isn’t yours: give it up. Giving it up will be for your welfare and happiness.
