សាវត្ថិនិទានំ។
At Sāvatthī.
ឯកមន្តំ និសិន្នោ ខោ សោ ភិក្ខុ ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោច:
Seated to one side, that bhikkhu said to the Buddha:
“កោ នុ ខោ, ភន្តេ, ហេតុ, កោ បច្ចយោ, យេន មិធេកច្ចោ កាយស្ស ភេទា បរំ មរណា ជលាពុជានំ នាគានំ …បេ… សំសេទជានំ នាគានំ …បេ… ឱបបាតិកានំ នាគានំ សហព្យតំ ឧបបជ្ជតី”តិ?
“Sir, what is the cause, what is the reason why someone, when their body breaks up, after death, is reborn in the company of the womb-born dragons … moisture-born dragons … spontaneously-born dragons?”
“ឥធ, ភិក្ខុ, ឯកច្ចោ កាយេន ទ្វយការី ហោតិ, វាចាយ ទ្វយការី, មនសា ទ្វយការី។ តស្ស សុតំ ហោតិ: ‘ឱបបាតិកា នាគា ទីឃាយុកា វណ្ណវន្តោ សុខពហុលាៜតិ។ តស្ស ឯវំ ហោតិ: ‘អហោ វតាហំ កាយស្ស ភេទា បរំ មរណា ឱបបាតិកានំ នាគានំ សហព្យតំ ឧបបជ្ជេយ្យន៑ៜតិ។ សោ អន្នំ ទេតិ …បេ… បានំ ទេតិ …បេ… បទីបេយ្យំ ទេតិ។ សោ កាយស្ស ភេទា បរំ មរណា ឱបបាតិកានំ នាគានំ សហព្យតំ ឧបបជ្ជតិ។ អយំ ខោ, ភិក្ខុ, ហេតុ, អយំ បច្ចយោ, យេន មិធេកច្ចោ កាយស្ស ភេទា បរំ មរណា ឱបបាតិកានំ នាគានំ សហព្យតំ ឧបបជ្ជតី”តិ។
“Bhikkhu, it’s when someone does both kinds of deeds by body, speech, and mind. And they’ve heard: ‘The spontaneously-born dragons are long-lived, beautiful, and very happy.’ They think: ‘If only, when my body breaks up, after death, I would be reborn in the company of the spontaneously-born dragons!’ They give food … drink … a lamp. When their body breaks up, after death, they’re reborn in the company of the spontaneously-born dragons. This is the cause, this is the reason why someone, when their body breaks up, after death, is reborn in the company of the spontaneously-born dragons.”
(ឥមិនា បេយ្យាលេន ទស ទស សុត្តន្តា កាតព្ពា។ ឯវំ ចតូសុ យោនីសុ ចត្តាលីសំ វេយ្យាករណា ហោន្តិ។ បុរិមេហិ បន ទសហិ សុត្តន្តេហិ សហ ហោន្តិ បណ្ណាសសុត្តន្តាតិ។)

សុទ្ធិកំ បណីតតរំ, ចតុរោ ច ឧបោសថា; តស្ស សុតំ ចតុរោ ច, ទានូបការា ច តាលីសំ; បណ្ណាស បិណ្ឌតោ សុត្តា, នាគម្ហិ សុប្បកាសិតាតិ។
