Awake
សាវត្ថិនិទានំ។
At Sāvatthī.
ឯកមន្តំ ឋិតា ខោ សា ទេវតា ភគវតោ សន្តិកេ ឥមំ គាថំ អភាសិ:
Standing to one side, that deity recited this verse in the Buddha’s presence:
“កតិ ជាគរតំ សុត្តា, កតិ សុត្តេសុ ជាគរា; កតិភិ រជមាទេតិ, កតិភិ បរិសុជ្ឈតី”តិ។
“How many sleep while others wake? How many wake among the sleeping? By how many do you gather dust? By how many are you cleansed?”
“បញ្ច ជាគរតំ សុត្តា, បញ្ច សុត្តេសុ ជាគរា; បញ្ចភិ រជមាទេតិ, បញ្ចភិ បរិសុជ្ឈតី”តិ។
“Five sleep while others wake. Five wake among the sleeping. By five you gather dust. By five you’re cleansed.”
