“Bhikkhus, a disrespectful and irreverent bhikkhu with five qualities can’t achieve growth, improvement, or maturity in this teaching and training. What five? A disrespectful and irreverent bhikkhu who is faithless … shameless … imprudent … lazy … witless can’t achieve growth, improvement, or maturity in this teaching and training. A disrespectful and irreverent bhikkhu with these five qualities can’t achieve growth, improvement, or maturity in this teaching and training.
ပဉ္စဟိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော ဘိက္ခု သဂါရဝေါ သပ္ပတိဿော ဘဗ္ဗော ဣမသ္မိံ ဓမ္မဝိနယေ ဝုဒ္ဓိံ ဝိရူဠှိံ ဝေပုလ္လံ အာပဇ္ဇိတုံ၊ ကတမေဟိ ပဉ္စဟိ? သဒ္ဓေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု သဂါရဝေါ သပ္ပတိဿော ဘဗ္ဗော ဣမသ္မိံ ဓမ္မဝိနယေ ဝုဒ္ဓိံ ဝိရူဠှိံ ဝေပုလ္လံ အာပဇ္ဇိတုံ၊ ဟိရီမာ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု …ပေ… ဩတ္တပ္ပီ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု …ပေ… အာရဒ္ဓဝီရိယော, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု …ပေ… ပညဝါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု သဂါရဝေါ သပ္ပတိဿော ဘဗ္ဗော ဣမသ္မိံ ဓမ္မဝိနယေ ဝုဒ္ဓိံ ဝိရူဠှိံ ဝေပုလ္လံ အာပဇ္ဇိတုံ၊ ဣမေဟိ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပဉ္စဟိ ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော ဘိက္ခု သဂါရဝေါ သပ္ပတိဿော ဘဗ္ဗော ဣမသ္မိံ ဓမ္မဝိနယေ ဝုဒ္ဓိံ ဝိရူဠှိံ ဝေပုလ္လံ အာပဇ္ဇိတုန်”တိ၊
A respectful and reverent bhikkhu with five qualities can achieve growth, improvement, and maturity in this teaching and training. What five? A respectful and reverent bhikkhu who is faithful … conscientious … prudent … energetic … wise can achieve growth, improvement, and maturity in this teaching and training. A respectful and reverent bhikkhu with these five qualities can achieve growth, improvement, and maturity in this teaching and training.”
