အထ ခေါ စဏ္ဍော ဂါမဏိ ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိ; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ ဘဂဝန္တံ အဘိဝါဒေတွာ ဧကမန္တံ နိသီဒိ၊ ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နော ခေါ စဏ္ဍော ဂါမဏိ ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
Then the chief named Fury went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and said to him:
“ကော နု ခေါ, ဘန္တေ, ဟေတု, ကော ပစ္စယော ယေန မိဓေကစ္စော စဏ္ဍော စဏ္ဍောတွေဝ သင်္ခံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ ကော ပန, ဘန္တေ, ဟေတု, ကော ပစ္စယော ယေန မိဓေကစ္စော သောရတော သောရတောတွေဝ သင်္ခံ ဂစ္ဆတီ”တိ?
“What is the cause, sir, what is the reason why some people are regarded as furious, while others are regarded as sweet-natured?”
“ဣဓ, ဂါမဏိ, ဧကစ္စဿ ရာဂေါ အပ္ပဟီနော ဟောတိ၊ ရာဂဿ အပ္ပဟီနတ္တာ ပရေ ကောပေန္တိ, ပရေဟိ ကောပိယမာနော ကောပံ ပါတုကရောတိ၊ သော စဏ္ဍောတွေဝ သင်္ခံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ ဒေါသော အပ္ပဟီနော ဟောတိ၊ ဒေါသဿ အပ္ပဟီနတ္တာ ပရေ ကောပေန္တိ, ပရေဟိ ကောပိယမာနော ကောပံ ပါတုကရောတိ၊ သော စဏ္ဍောတွေဝ သင်္ခံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ မောဟော အပ္ပဟီနော ဟောတိ၊ မောဟဿ အပ္ပဟီနတ္တာ ပရေ ကောပေန္တိ, ပရေဟိ ကောပိယမာနော ကောပံ ပါတုကရောတိ၊ သော စဏ္ဍောတွေဝ သင်္ခံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ အယံ ခေါ, ဂါမဏိ, ဟေတု, အယံ ပစ္စယော ယေန မိဓေကစ္စော စဏ္ဍော စဏ္ဍောတွေဝ သင်္ခံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊
“Take someone who hasn’t given up greed. So they get annoyed by others, and they show it. They’re regarded as furious. They haven’t given up hate. So they get annoyed by others, and they show it. They’re regarded as furious. They haven’t given up delusion. So they get annoyed by others, and they show it. They’re regarded as furious. This is the cause, this is the reason why some people are regarded as furious.
ဣဓ ပန, ဂါမဏိ, ဧကစ္စဿ ရာဂေါ ပဟီနော ဟောတိ၊ ရာဂဿ ပဟီနတ္တာ ပရေ န ကောပေန္တိ, ပရေဟိ ကောပိယမာနော ကောပံ န ပါတုကရောတိ၊ သော သောရတောတွေဝ သင်္ခံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ ဒေါသော ပဟီနော ဟောတိ၊ ဒေါသဿ ပဟီနတ္တာ ပရေ န ကောပေန္တိ, ပရေဟိ ကောပိယမာနော ကောပံ န ပါတုကရောတိ၊ သော သောရတောတွေဝ သင်္ခံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ မောဟော ပဟီနော ဟောတိ၊ မောဟဿ ပဟီနတ္တာ ပရေ န ကောပေန္တိ, ပရေဟိ ကောပိယမာနော ကောပံ န ပါတုကရောတိ၊ သော သောရတောတွေဝ သင်္ခံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ အယံ ခေါ, ဂါမဏိ, ဟေတု အယံ ပစ္စယော ယေန မိဓေကစ္စော သောရတော သောရတောတွေဝ သင်္ခံ ဂစ္ဆတီ”တိ၊

ဧဝံ ဝုတ္တေ, စဏ္ဍော ဂါမဏိ ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစ: “အဘိက္ကန္တံ, ဘန္တေ, အဘိက္ကန္တံ, ဘန္တေ၊ သေယျထာပိ, ဘန္တေ, နိက္ကုဇ္ဇိတံ ဝါ ဥက္ကုဇ္ဇေယျ, ပဋိစ္ဆန္နံ ဝါ ဝိဝရေယျ, မူဠှဿ ဝါ မဂ္ဂံ အာစိက္ခေယျ, အန္ဓကာရေ ဝါ တေလပဇ္ဇောတံ ဓာရေယျ: ‘စက္ခုမန္တော ရူပါနိ ဒက္ခန္တီ'တိ; ဧဝမေဝံ ဘဂဝတာ အနေကပရိယာယေန ဓမ္မော ပကာသိတော၊ ဧသာဟံ, ဘန္တေ, ဘဂဝန္တံ သရဏံ ဂစ္ဆာမိ ဓမ္မဉ္စ ဘိက္ခုသင်္ဃဉ္စ၊ ဥပါသကံ မံ ဘဂဝါ ဓာရေတု အဇ္ဇတဂ္ဂေ ပါဏုပေတံ သရဏံ ဂတန်”တိ၊
When he said this, the chief named Fury said to the Buddha, “Excellent, sir! Excellent! As if he were righting the overturned, or revealing the hidden, or pointing out the path to the lost, or lighting a lamp in the dark so people with clear eyes can see what’s there, the Buddha has made the teaching clear in many ways. I go for refuge to the Buddha, to the teaching, and to the bhikkhu Saṅgha. From this day forth, may the Buddha remember me as a lay follower who has gone for refuge for life.”
