Tears
សាវត្ថិយំ វិហរតិ។
At Sāvatthī.
“អនមតគ្គោយំ, ភិក្ខវេ, សំសារោ។ បុព្ពា កោដិ ន បញ្ញាយតិ អវិជ្ជានីវរណានំ សត្តានំ តណ្ហាសំយោជនានំ សន្ធាវតំ សំសរតំ។ តំ កិំ មញ្ញថ, ភិក្ខវេ, កតមំ នុ ខោ ពហុតរំ, យំ វា វោ ឥមិនា ទីឃេន អទ្ធុនា សន្ធាវតំ សំសរតំ អមនាបសម្បយោគា មនាបវិប្បយោគា កន្ទន្តានំ រោទន្តានំ អស្សុ បស្សន្នំ បគ្ឃរិតំ, យំ វា ចតូសុ មហាសមុទ្ទេសុ ឧទកន៑”តិ?
“Bhikkhus, transmigration has no known beginning. No first point is found of sentient beings roaming and transmigrating, shrouded by ignorance and fettered by craving. What do you think? Which is more: the flow of tears you’ve shed while roaming and transmigrating for such a very long time—weeping and wailing from being united with the unloved and separated from the loved—or the water in the four oceans?”
“យថា ខោ មយំ, ភន្តេ, ភគវតា ធម្មំ ទេសិតំ អាជានាម, ឯតទេវ, ភន្តេ, ពហុតរំ យំ នោ ឥមិនា ទីឃេន អទ្ធុនា សន្ធាវតំ សំសរតំ អមនាបសម្បយោគា មនាបវិប្បយោគា កន្ទន្តានំ រោទន្តានំ អស្សុ បស្សន្នំ បគ្ឃរិតំ, ន ត្វេវ ចតូសុ មហាសមុទ្ទេសុ ឧទកន៑”តិ។
“As we understand the Buddha’s teaching, the flow of tears we’ve shed while roaming and transmigrating is more than the water in the four oceans.”
“សាធុ សាធុ, ភិក្ខវេ, សាធុ ខោ មេ តុម្ហេ, ភិក្ខវេ, ឯវំ ធម្មំ ទេសិតំ អាជានាថ។ ឯតទេវ, ភិក្ខវេ, ពហុតរំ យំ វោ ឥមិនា ទីឃេន អទ្ធុនា សន្ធាវតំ សំសរតំ អមនាបសម្បយោគា មនាបវិប្បយោគា កន្ទន្តានំ រោទន្តានំ អស្សុ បស្សន្នំ បគ្ឃរិតំ, ន ត្វេវ ចតូសុ មហាសមុទ្ទេសុ ឧទកំ។ ទីឃរត្តំ វោ, ភិក្ខវេ, មាតុមរណំ បច្ចនុភូតំ; តេសំ វោ មាតុមរណំ បច្ចនុភោន្តានំ អមនាបសម្បយោគា មនាបវិប្បយោគា កន្ទន្តានំ រោទន្តានំ អស្សុ បស្សន្នំ បគ្ឃរិតំ, ន ត្វេវ ចតូសុ មហាសមុទ្ទេសុ ឧទកំ។ ទីឃរត្តំ វោ, ភិក្ខវេ, បិតុមរណំ បច្ចនុភូតំ …បេ… ភាតុមរណំ បច្ចនុភូតំ … ភគិនិមរណំ បច្ចនុភូតំ … បុត្តមរណំ បច្ចនុភូតំ … ធីតុមរណំ បច្ចនុភូតំ … ញាតិព្យសនំ បច្ចនុភូតំ … ភោគព្យសនំ បច្ចនុភូតំ។ ទីឃរត្តំ វោ, ភិក្ខវេ, រោគព្យសនំ បច្ចនុភូតំ, តេសំ វោ រោគព្យសនំ បច្ចនុភោន្តានំ អមនាបសម្បយោគា មនាបវិប្បយោគា កន្ទន្តានំ រោទន្តានំ អស្សុ បស្សន្នំ បគ្ឃរិតំ, ន ត្វេវ ចតូសុ មហាសមុទ្ទេសុ ឧទកំ។
“Good, good, bhikkhus! It’s good that you understand my teaching like this. The flow of tears you’ve shed while roaming and transmigrating is indeed more than the water in the four oceans. For a long time you’ve undergone the death of a mother … father … brother … sister … son … daughter … loss of relatives … loss of wealth … or loss through illness. From being united with the unloved and separated from the loved, the flow of tears you’ve shed while roaming and transmigrating is indeed more than the water in the four oceans.
តំ កិស្ស ហេតុ? អនមតគ្គោយំ, ភិក្ខវេ, សំសារោ …បេ… យាវញ្ចិទំ, ភិក្ខវេ, អលមេវ សព្ពសង្ខារេសុ និព្ពិន្ទិតុំ, អលំ វិរជ្ជិតុំ, អលំ វិមុច្ចិតុន៑”តិ។
Why is that? Transmigration has no known beginning. … This is quite enough for you to become disillusioned, dispassionate, and freed regarding all conditions.”
