អរហត្តបញ្ហាសុត្ត
A Question About Perfection
“‘អរហត្តំ, អរហត្តន៑ៜតិ, អាវុសោ សារិបុត្ត, វុច្ចតិ។ កតមំ នុ ខោ, អាវុសោ, អរហត្តន៑”តិ?
“Friend Sāriputta, they speak of this thing called ‘perfection’. What is perfection?”
“យោ ខោ, អាវុសោ, រាគក្ខយោ ទោសក្ខយោ មោហក្ខយោ—ឥទំ វុច្ចតិ អរហត្តន៑”តិ។
“Friend, the ending of greed, hate, and delusion is called perfection.”
“អត្ថិ បនាវុសោ, មគ្គោ អត្ថិ បដិបទា ឯតស្ស អរហត្តស្ស សច្ឆិកិរិយាយា”តិ?
“But, friend, is there a path and a practice for realizing this perfection?”
“អត្ថិ ខោ, អាវុសោ, មគ្គោ អត្ថិ បដិបទា ឯតស្ស អរហត្តស្ស សច្ឆិកិរិយាយា”តិ។
“There is, friend.”
“កតមោ បនាវុសោ, មគ្គោ កតមា បដិបទា ឯតស្ស អរហត្តស្ស សច្ឆិកិរិយាយា”តិ?
“Well, what is it?”
“អយមេវ ខោ, អាវុសោ, អរិយោ អដ្ឋង្គិកោ មគ្គោ ឯតស្ស អរហត្តស្ស សច្ឆិកិរិយាយ, សេយ្យថិទំ—សម្មាទិដ្ឋិ …បេ… សម្មាសមាធិ។ អយំ ខោ, អាវុសោ, មគ្គោ, អយំ បដិបទា ឯតស្ស អរហត្តស្ស សច្ឆិកិរិយាយា”តិ។
“It is simply this noble eightfold path, that is: right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samādhi. This is the path, the practice, for realizing this perfection.”
“ភទ្ទកោ, អាវុសោ, មគ្គោ ភទ្ទិកា បដិបទា ឯតស្ស អរហត្តស្ស សច្ឆិកិរិយាយ។ អលញ្ច បនាវុសោ សារិបុត្ត, អប្បមាទាយា”តិ។
“Friend, this is a fine path, a fine practice, for realizing this perfection. Just this much is enough to be diligent.”
