At Sāvatthī.
တေန ခေါ ပန သမယေန ဒွေ ဘိက္ခူ သမ္ပယောဇေသုံ၊ တတြေကော ဘိက္ခု အစ္စသရာ၊ အထ ခေါ သော ဘိက္ခု တဿ ဘိက္ခုနော သန္တိကေ အစ္စယံ အစ္စယတော ဒေသေတိ; သော ဘိက္ခု နပ္ပဋိဂ္ဂဏှာတိ၊ အထ ခေါ သမ္ဗဟုလာ ဘိက္ခူ ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိံသု; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ ဘဂဝန္တံ အဘိဝါဒေတွာ ဧကမန္တံ နိသီဒိံသု၊ ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နာ ခေါ တေ ဘိက္ခူ ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစုံ: “ဣဓ, ဘန္တေ, ဒွေ ဘိက္ခူ သမ္ပယောဇေသုံ, တတြေကော ဘိက္ခု အစ္စသရာ၊ အထ ခေါ သော, ဘန္တေ, ဘိက္ခု တဿ ဘိက္ခုနော သန္တိကေ အစ္စယံ အစ္စယတော ဒေသေတိ, သော ဘိက္ခု နပ္ပဋိဂ္ဂဏှာတီ”တိ၊
Now at that time two bhikkhus were overly attached, and one of them transgressed against the other. The transgressor confessed to the other bhikkhu, but they didn’t accept it. Then several bhikkhus went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and told him what had happened.
“ဒွေမေ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဗာလာ၊ ယော စ အစ္စယံ အစ္စယတော န ပဿတိ, ယော စ အစ္စယံ ဒေသေန္တဿ ယထာဓမ္မံ နပ္ပဋိဂ္ဂဏှာတိ—ဣမေ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဒွေ ဗာလာ၊
“Bhikkhus, there are two fools. One who doesn’t recognize when they’ve made a mistake. And one who doesn’t properly accept the confession of someone who’s made a mistake. These are the two fools.
ဒွေမေ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပဏ္ဍိတာ၊ ယော စ အစ္စယံ အစ္စယတော ပဿတိ, ယော စ အစ္စယံ ဒေသေန္တဿ ယထာဓမ္မံ ပဋိဂ္ဂဏှာတိ—ဣမေ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဒွေ ပဏ္ဍိတာ၊
There are two who are astute. One who recognizes when they’ve made a mistake. And one who properly accepts the confession of someone who’s made a mistake. These are the two who are astute.
ဘူတပုဗ္ဗံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သက္ကော ဒေဝါနမိန္ဒော သုဓမ္မာယံ သဘာယံ ဒေဝေ တာဝတိံသေ အနုနယမာနော တာယံ ဝေလာယံ ဣမံ ဂါထံ အဘာသိ:
Once upon a time, bhikkhus, Sakka, lord of gods, guiding the gods of the Thirty-Three, recited this verse:
‘ကောဓော ဝေါ ဝသမာယာတု, မာ စ မိတ္တေဟိ ဝေါ ဇရာ; အဂရဟိယံ မာ ဂရဟိတ္ထ, မာ စ ဘာသိတ္ထ ပေသုဏံ; အထ ပါပဇနံ ကောဓော, ပဗ္ဗတောဝါဘိမဒ္ဒတီ'”တိ၊
‘Control your anger; don’t let friendships decay. Don’t blame the blameless, and don’t say divisive things. For anger crushes bad people like a mountain.’”
