Blameworthy
“सावज्जञ्च वो, भिक्खवे, धम्मं देसेस्सामि अनवज्जञ्च। तं सुणाथ …पे… कतमो च, भिक्खवे, सावज्जो धम्मो? पाणातिपातो …पे… मिच्छादिट्ठि—अयं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, सावज्जो धम्मो।
“Sāvajjañca vo, bhikkhave, dhammaṁ desessāmi anavajjañca. Taṁ suṇātha …pe… katamo ca, bhikkhave, sāvajjo dhammo? Pāṇātipāto …pe… micchādiṭṭhi—ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, sāvajjo dhammo.
“I will teach you the blameworthy principle and the blameless. … And what is the blameworthy principle? Killing living creatures … wrong view. This is called the blameworthy principle.
कतमो च, भिक्खवे, अनवज्जो धम्मो? पाणातिपाता वेरमणी …पे… सम्मादिट्ठि—अयं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, अनवज्जो धम्मो”ति।
Katamo ca, bhikkhave, anavajjo dhammo? Pāṇātipātā veramaṇī …pe… sammādiṭṭhi—ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, anavajjo dhammo”ti.
And what is the blameless principle? Not killing living creatures … right view. This is called the blameless principle.”
