Who Should Give Ordination
“ပဉ္စဟိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတေန ဘိက္ခုနာ ဥပသမ္ပာဒေတဗ္ဗံ၊ ကတမေဟိ ပဉ္စဟိ? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု အသေခေန သီလက္ခန္ဓေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ; အသေခေန သမာဓိက္ခန္ဓေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ; အသေခေန ပညာက္ခန္ဓေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ; အသေခေန ဝိမုတ္တိက္ခန္ဓေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ; အသေခေန ဝိမုတ္တိဉာဏဒဿနက္ခန္ဓေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ၊ ဣမေဟိ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပဉ္စဟိ ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတေန ဘိက္ခုနာ ဥပသမ္ပာဒေတဗ္ဗန်”တိ၊
“Bhikkhus, ordination should be given by a bhikkhu with five qualities. What five? It’s a bhikkhu who has the entire spectrum of an adept’s ethics, samādhi, wisdom, freedom, and the knowledge and vision of freedom. Ordination should be given by a bhikkhu with these five qualities.”
