“စတဿော ဣမာ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပဋိပဒါ၊ ကတမာ စတဿော?
“Bhikkhus, there are four ways of practice. What four?
ဒုက္ခာ ပဋိပဒါ ဒန္ဓာဘိညာ,
Painful practice with slow insight,
ဒုက္ခာ ပဋိပဒါ ခိပ္ပါဘိညာ,
painful practice with swift insight,
သုခါ ပဋိပဒါ ဒန္ဓာဘိညာ,
pleasant practice with slow insight, and
သုခါ ပဋိပဒါ ခိပ္ပါဘိညာ၊
pleasant practice with swift insight.
တတြ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ယာယံ ပဋိပဒါ ဒုက္ခာ ဒန္ဓာဘိညာ, အယံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပဋိပဒါ ဥဘယေနေဝ ဟီနာ အက္ခာယတိ၊ ယမ္ပာယံ ပဋိပဒါ ဒုက္ခာ, ဣမိနာပါယံ ဟီနာ အက္ခာယတိ; ယမ္ပာယံ ပဋိပဒါ ဒန္ဓာ, ဣမိနာပါယံ ဟီနာ အက္ခာယတိ၊ အယံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပဋိပဒါ ဥဘယေနေဝ ဟီနာ အက္ခာယတိ၊
Of these, the painful practice with slow insight is said to be inferior in both ways: because it’s painful and because it’s slow. This practice is said to be inferior in both ways.
တတြ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ယာယံ ပဋိပဒါ ဒုက္ခာ ခိပ္ပါဘိညာ, အယံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပဋိပဒါ ဒုက္ခတ္တာ ဟီနာ အက္ခာယတိ၊
The painful practice with swift insight is said to be inferior because it’s painful.

The pleasant practice with slow insight is said to be inferior because it’s slow.

The pleasant practice with swift insight is said to be superior in both ways: because it’s pleasant, and because it’s swift. This practice is said to be superior in both ways.
ဣမာ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, စတဿော ပဋိပဒါ”တိ၊
These are the four ways of practice.”
