အထ ခေါ ရာဇာ မာဂဓော အဇာတသတ္တု ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တော စတုရင်္ဂိနိံ သေနံ သန္နယှိတွာ ရာဇာနံ ပသေနဒိံ ကောသလံ အဗ္ဘုယျာသိ ယေန ကာသိ၊ အဿောသိ ခေါ ရာဇာ ပသေနဒိ ကောသလော: “ရာဇာ ကိရ မာဂဓော အဇာတသတ္တု ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တော စတုရင်္ဂိနိံ သေနံ သန္နယှိတွာ မမံ အဗ္ဘုယျာတော ယေန ကာသီ”တိ၊ အထ ခေါ ရာဇာ ပသေနဒိ ကောသလော စတုရင်္ဂိနိံ သေနံ သန္နယှိတွာ ရာဇာနံ မာဂဓံ အဇာတသတ္တုံ ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တံ ပစ္စုယျာသိ ယေန ကာသိ၊ အထ ခေါ ရာဇာ စ မာဂဓော အဇာတသတ္တု ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တော ရာဇာ စ ပသေနဒိ ကောသလော သင်္ဂါမေသုံ၊ တသ္မိံ ခေါ ပန သင်္ဂါမေ ရာဇာ မာဂဓော အဇာတသတ္တု ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တော ရာဇာနံ ပသေနဒိံ ကောသလံ ပရာဇေသိ၊ ပရာဇိတော စ ရာဇာ ပသေနဒိ ကောသလော သကမေဝ ရာဇဓာနိံ သာဝတ္ထိံ ပစ္စုယျာသိ၊
Then King Ajātasattu of Magadha, son of the princess of Videha, mobilized an army of four divisions and marched to Kāsi to attack King Pasenadi of Kosala. When King Pasenadi heard of this, he mobilized an army of four divisions and marched to Kāsi to defend it against Ajātasattu. Then the two kings met in battle. And in that battle Ajātasattu defeated Pasenadi, who withdrew to his own capital at Sāvatthī.
အထ ခေါ သမ္ဗဟုလာ ဘိက္ခူ ပုဗ္ဗဏှသမယံ နိဝါသေတွာ ပတ္တစီဝရမာဒါယ သာဝတ္ထိံ ပိဏ္ဍာယ ပဝိသိံသု၊ သာဝတ္ထိယံ ပိဏ္ဍာယ စရိတွာ ပစ္ဆာဘတ္တံ ပိဏ္ဍပါတပဋိက္ကန္တာ ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိံသု; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ ဘဂဝန္တံ အဘိဝါဒေတွာ ဧကမန္တံ နိသီဒိံသု၊ ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နာ ခေါ တေ ဘိက္ခူ ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစုံ:
Then several bhikkhus robed up in the morning and, taking their bowls and robes, entered Sāvatthī for alms. Then, after the meal, when they returned from almsround, they went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and told him what had happened. Then the Buddha said:
“ဣဓ, ဘန္တေ, ရာဇာ မာဂဓော အဇာတသတ္တု ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တော စတုရင်္ဂိနိံ သေနံ သန္နယှိတွာ ရာဇာနံ ပသေနဒိံ ကောသလံ အဗ္ဘုယျာသိ ယေန ကာသိ၊ အဿောသိ ခေါ, ဘန္တေ, ရာဇာ ပသေနဒိ ကောသလော: ‘ရာဇာ ကိရ မာဂဓော အဇာတသတ္တု ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တော စတုရင်္ဂိနိံ သေနံ သန္နယှိတွာ မမံ အဗ္ဘုယျာတော ယေန ကာသီ'တိ၊ အထ ခေါ, ဘန္တေ, ရာဇာ ပသေနဒိ ကောသလော စတုရင်္ဂိနိံ သေနံ သန္နယှိတွာ ရာဇာနံ မာဂဓံ အဇာတသတ္တုံ ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တံ ပစ္စုယျာသိ ယေန ကာသိ၊ အထ ခေါ, ဘန္တေ, ရာဇာ စ မာဂဓော အဇာတသတ္တု ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တော ရာဇာ စ ပသေနဒိ ကောသလော သင်္ဂါမေသုံ၊ တသ္မိံ ခေါ ပန, ဘန္တေ, သင်္ဂါမေ ရာဇာ မာဂဓော အဇာတသတ္တု ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တော ရာဇာနံ ပသေနဒိံ ကောသလံ ပရာဇေသိ၊ ပရာဇိတော စ, ဘန္တေ, ရာဇာ ပသေနဒိ ကောသလော သကမေဝ ရာဇဓာနိံ သာဝတ္ထိံ ပစ္စုယျာသီ”တိ၊
“ရာဇာ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, မာဂဓော အဇာတသတ္တု ဝေဒေဟိပုတ္တော ပါပမိတ္တော ပါပသဟာယော ပါပသမ္ပဝင်္ကော; ရာဇာ စ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပသေနဒိ ကောသလော ကလျာဏမိတ္တော ကလျာဏသဟာယော ကလျာဏသမ္ပဝင်္ကော၊ အဇ္ဇေဝ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ရာဇာ ပသေနဒိ ကောသလော ဣမံ ရတ္တိံ ဒုက္ခံ သေတိ ပရာဇိတော”တိ၊
“Bhikkhus, King Ajātasattu has bad friends, companions, and associates. But King Pasenadi has good friends, companions, and associates. Yet on this day King Pasenadi will have a bad night’s sleep as one defeated.”
ဣဒမဝေါစ …ပေ…
That is what the Buddha said. …
“ဇယံ ဝေရံ ပသဝတိ, ဒုက္ခံ သေတိ ပရာဇိတော; ဥပသန္တော သုခံ သေတိ, ဟိတွာ ဇယပရာဇယန်”တိ၊
“Victory breeds enmity; the defeated sleep badly. The peaceful sleep at ease, having left victory and defeat behind.”
