At Sāvatthī.
អថ ខោ រាជា មាគធោ អជាតសត្តុ វេទេហិបុត្តោ ចតុរង្គិនិំ សេនំ សន្នយ្ហិត្វា រាជានំ បសេនទិំ កោសលំ អព្ភុយ្យាសិ យេន កាសិ។ អស្សោសិ ខោ រាជា បសេនទិ កោសលោ: “រាជា កិរ មាគធោ អជាតសត្តុ វេទេហិបុត្តោ ចតុរង្គិនិំ សេនំ សន្នយ្ហិត្វា មមំ អព្ភុយ្យាតោ យេន កាសី”តិ។ អថ ខោ រាជា បសេនទិ កោសលោ ចតុរង្គិនិំ សេនំ សន្នយ្ហិត្វា រាជានំ មាគធំ អជាតសត្តុំ វេទេហិបុត្តំ បច្ចុយ្យាសិ យេន កាសិ។ អថ ខោ រាជា ច មាគធោ អជាតសត្តុ វេទេហិបុត្តោ រាជា ច បសេនទិ កោសលោ សង្គាមេសុំ។ តស្មិំ ខោ បន សង្គាមេ រាជា មាគធោ អជាតសត្តុ វេទេហិបុត្តោ រាជានំ បសេនទិំ កោសលំ បរាជេសិ។ បរាជិតោ ច រាជា បសេនទិ កោសលោ សកមេវ រាជធានិំ សាវត្ថិំ បច្ចុយ្យាសិ។
Then King Ajātasattu of Magadha, son of the princess of Videha, mobilized an army of four divisions and marched to Kāsi to attack King Pasenadi of Kosala. When King Pasenadi heard of this, he mobilized an army of four divisions and marched to Kāsi to defend it against Ajātasattu. Then the two kings met in battle. And in that battle Ajātasattu defeated Pasenadi, who withdrew to his own capital at Sāvatthī.
អថ ខោ សម្ពហុលា ភិក្ខូ បុព្ពណ្ហសមយំ និវាសេត្វា បត្តចីវរមាទាយ សាវត្ថិំ បិណ្ឌាយ បវិសិំសុ។ សាវត្ថិយំ បិណ្ឌាយ ចរិត្វា បច្ឆាភត្តំ បិណ្ឌបាតបដិក្កន្តា យេន ភគវា តេនុបសង្កមិំសុ; ឧបសង្កមិត្វា ភគវន្តំ អភិវាទេត្វា ឯកមន្តំ និសីទិំសុ។ ឯកមន្តំ និសិន្នា ខោ តេ ភិក្ខូ ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោចុំ:
Then several bhikkhus robed up in the morning and, taking their bowls and robes, entered Sāvatthī for alms. Then, after the meal, when they returned from almsround, they went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and told him what had happened. Then the Buddha said:
“ឥធ, ភន្តេ, រាជា មាគធោ អជាតសត្តុ វេទេហិបុត្តោ ចតុរង្គិនិំ សេនំ សន្នយ្ហិត្វា រាជានំ បសេនទិំ កោសលំ អព្ភុយ្យាសិ យេន កាសិ។ អស្សោសិ ខោ, ភន្តេ, រាជា បសេនទិ កោសលោ: ‘រាជា កិរ មាគធោ អជាតសត្តុ វេទេហិបុត្តោ ចតុរង្គិនិំ សេនំ សន្នយ្ហិត្វា មមំ អព្ភុយ្យាតោ យេន កាសីៜតិ។ អថ ខោ, ភន្តេ, រាជា បសេនទិ កោសលោ ចតុរង្គិនិំ សេនំ សន្នយ្ហិត្វា រាជានំ មាគធំ អជាតសត្តុំ វេទេហិបុត្តំ បច្ចុយ្យាសិ យេន កាសិ។ អថ ខោ, ភន្តេ, រាជា ច មាគធោ អជាតសត្តុ វេទេហិបុត្តោ រាជា ច បសេនទិ កោសលោ សង្គាមេសុំ។ តស្មិំ ខោ បន, ភន្តេ, សង្គាមេ រាជា មាគធោ អជាតសត្តុ វេទេហិបុត្តោ រាជានំ បសេនទិំ កោសលំ បរាជេសិ។ បរាជិតោ ច, ភន្តេ, រាជា បសេនទិ កោសលោ សកមេវ រាជធានិំ សាវត្ថិំ បច្ចុយ្យាសី”តិ។
“រាជា, ភិក្ខវេ, មាគធោ អជាតសត្តុ វេទេហិបុត្តោ បាបមិត្តោ បាបសហាយោ បាបសម្បវង្កោ; រាជា ច ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, បសេនទិ កោសលោ កល្យាណមិត្តោ កល្យាណសហាយោ កល្យាណសម្បវង្កោ។ អជ្ជេវ, ភិក្ខវេ, រាជា បសេនទិ កោសលោ ឥមំ រត្តិំ ទុក្ខំ សេតិ បរាជិតោ”តិ។
“Bhikkhus, King Ajātasattu has bad friends, companions, and associates. But King Pasenadi has good friends, companions, and associates. Yet on this day King Pasenadi will have a bad night’s sleep as one defeated.”

That is what the Buddha said. …
“ជយំ វេរំ បសវតិ, ទុក្ខំ សេតិ បរាជិតោ; ឧបសន្តោ សុខំ សេតិ, ហិត្វា ជយបរាជយន៑”តិ។
“Victory breeds enmity; the defeated sleep badly. The peaceful sleep at ease, having left victory and defeat behind.”
