Hindrances
“បញ្ចិមានិ, ភិក្ខវេ, នីវរណានិ។ កតមានិ បញ្ច? កាមច្ឆន្ទនីវរណំ, ព្យាបាទនីវរណំ, ថិនមិទ្ធនីវរណំ, ឧទ្ធច្ចកុក្កុច្ចនីវរណំ, វិចិកិច្ឆានីវរណំ—ឥមានិ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, បញ្ច នីវរណានិ។
“Bhikkhus, there are these five hindrances. What five? The hindrances of sensual desire, ill will, dullness and drowsiness, restlessness and remorse, and doubt. These are the five hindrances.
ឥមេសំ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, បញ្ចន្នំ នីវរណានំ អភិញ្ញាយ បរិញ្ញាយ បរិក្ខយាយ បហានាយ …បេ… អយំ អរិយោ អដ្ឋង្គិកោ មគ្គោ ភាវេតព្ពោ”តិ។
The noble eightfold path should be developed for the direct knowledge, complete understanding, finishing, and giving up of these five hindrances.”
