“පඤ්චහි, භික්ඛවේ, ධම්මේහි සමන්නාගතෝ නිගණ්ඨෝ … මුණ්ඩසාවකෝ … ජටිලකෝ … පරිබ්බාජකෝ … මාගණ්ඩිකෝ … තේදණ්ඩිකෝ … ආරුද්ධකෝ … ගෝතමකෝ … දේවධම්මිකෝ යථාභතං නික්ඛිත්තෝ ඒවං නිරයේ. කතමේහි පඤ්චහි? පාණාතිපාතී හෝති, අදින්නාදායී හෝති …පේ… සුරාමේරයමජ්ජපමාදට්ඨායී හෝති. ඉමේහි ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, පඤ්චහි ධම්මේහි සමන්නාගතෝ දේවධම්මිකෝ යථාභතං නික්ඛිත්තෝ ඒවං නිරයේ”ති.
“A Jain ascetic … disciple of the shavelings … a matted-hair ascetic … a wanderer … a follower of Māgaṇḍiya … a trident-bearing ascetic … a follower of the unobstructed … a follower of Gotama … one who performs rituals for the gods … with five qualities is cast down to hell. What five? They kill living creatures, steal, commit sexual misconduct, lie, and use alcoholic drinks that cause negligence. With these five qualities they’re cast down to hell.”
