សាវត្ថិនិទានំ។
At Sāvatthī.
តេន ខោ បន សមយេន ភគវា ទិវាវិហារគតោ ហោតិ បដិសល្លីនោ។ អថ ខោ សុព្រហ្មា ច បច្ចេកព្រហ្មា សុទ្ធាវាសោ ច បច្ចេកព្រហ្មា យេន ភគវា តេនុបសង្កមិំសុ; ឧបសង្កមិត្វា បច្ចេកំ ទ្វារពាហំ និស្សាយ អដ្ឋំសុ។
Now at that time the Buddha had gone into retreat for the day’s meditation. Then the independent brahmās Subrahmā and Suddhāvāsa went to the Buddha and stationed themselves one by each door-post.
អថ ខោ សុទ្ធាវាសោ បច្ចេកព្រហ្មា កតមោទកតិស្សកំ ភិក្ខុំ អារព្ភ ភគវតោ សន្តិកេ ឥមំ គាថំ អភាសិ:
Then Suddhāvāsa recited this verse about the bhikkhu Katamorakatissaka in the Buddha’s presence:
“អប្បមេយ្យំ បមិនន្តោ, កោធ វិទ្វា វិកប្បយេ; អប្បមេយ្យំ បមាយិនំ, និវុតំ តំ មញ្ញេ អកិស្សវន៑”តិ។
“What wise person here would judge the immeasurable by measuring them? I think anyone who’d do such a thing must be a fool, shrouded in darkness.”
