សាវត្ថិនិទានំ។
At Sāvatthī.
“ឯកធម្មោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ពហូបការោ អរិយស្ស អដ្ឋង្គិកស្ស មគ្គស្ស ឧប្បាទាយ។ កតមោ ឯកធម្មោ? យទិទំ—កល្យាណមិត្តតា។ កល្យាណមិត្តស្សេតំ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុនោ បាដិកង្ខំ—អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ភាវេស្សតិ, អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ពហុលីករិស្សតិ។
“Bhikkhus, one thing helps give rise to the noble eightfold path. What one thing? It’s good friendship. A bhikkhu with good friends can expect to develop and cultivate the noble eightfold path.
កថញ្ច, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុ កល្យាណមិត្តោ អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ភាវេតិ, អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ពហុលីករោតិ? ឥធ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុ សម្មាទិដ្ឋិំ ភាវេតិ វិវេកនិស្សិតំ វិរាគនិស្សិតំ និរោធនិស្សិតំ វោស្សគ្គបរិណាមិំ …បេ… សម្មាសមាធិំ ភាវេតិ វិវេកនិស្សិតំ វិរាគនិស្សិតំ និរោធនិស្សិតំ វោស្សគ្គបរិណាមិំ។ ឯវំ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុ កល្យាណមិត្តោ អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ភាវេតិ, អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ពហុលីករោតី”តិ។
And how does a bhikkhu with good friends develop and cultivate the noble eightfold path? It’s when a bhikkhu develops right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samādhi, which rely on seclusion, fading away, and cessation, and ripen as letting go. That’s how a bhikkhu with good friends develops and cultivates the noble eightfold path.”
