“ฉหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ภิกฺขุ อาหุเนโยฺย โหติ …เป… อนุตฺตรํ ปุญฺญกฺเขตฺตํ โลกสฺสฯ กตเมหิ ฉหิ? สทฺธินฺทฺริเยน, วีริยินฺทฺริเยน, สตินฺทฺริเยน, สมาธินฺทฺริเยน, ปญฺญินฺทฺริเยน, อาสวานํ ขยา อนาสวํ เจโตวิมุตฺตึ ปญฺญาวิมุตฺตึ ทิฏฺเฐว ธมฺเม สยํ อภิญฺญา สจฺฉิกตฺวา อุปสมฺปชฺช วิหรติฯ อิเมหิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ฉหิ ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ภิกฺขุ อาหุเนโยฺย โหติ ปาหุเนโยฺย ทกฺขิเณโยฺย อญฺชลิกรณีโย อนุตฺตรํ ปุญฺญกฺเขตฺตํ โลกสฺสา”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, a bhikkhu with six qualities is worthy of offerings dedicated to the gods, worthy of hospitality, worthy of a religious donation, worthy of veneration with joined palms, and is the supreme field of merit for the world. What six? The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, samādhi, and wisdom. And they realize the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom in this very life, and live having realized it with their own insight due to the ending of defilements. A bhikkhu with these six qualities is worthy of offerings dedicated to the gods, worthy of hospitality, worthy of a religious donation, worthy of veneration with joined palms, and is the supreme field of merit for the world.”
