“ฉ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเม อปฺปหาย อภพฺโพ อชฺฌตฺตํ กาเย …เป… พหิทฺธา กาเย …เป… อชฺฌตฺตพหิทฺธา กาเย …เป… อชฺฌตฺตํ เวทนาสุ …เป… พหิทฺธา เวทนาสุ …เป… อชฺฌตฺตพหิทฺธา เวทนาสุ …เป… อชฺฌตฺตํ จิตฺเต …เป… พหิทฺธา จิตฺเต …เป… อชฺฌตฺตพหิทฺธา จิตฺเต …เป… อชฺฌตฺตํ ธมฺเมสุ …เป… พหิทฺธา ธมฺเมสุ …เป… อชฺฌตฺตพหิทฺธา ธมฺเมสุ ธมฺมานุปสฺสี วิหริตุํฯ กตเม ฉ? กมฺมารามตํ, ภสฺสารามตํ, นิทฺทารามตํ, สงฺคณิการามตํ, อินฺทฺริเยสุ อคุตฺตทฺวารตํ, โภชเน อมตฺตญฺญุตํฯ อิเม โข, ภิกฺขเว, ฉ ธมฺเม ปหาย ภพฺโพ อชฺฌตฺตพหิทฺธา ธมฺเมสุ ธมฺมานุปสฺสี วิหริตุนฺ”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, without giving up six things you can’t meditate watching, again and again, an aspect of the body internally … body externally … body internally and externally … feelings internally … feelings externally … feelings internally and externally … mind internally … mind externally … mind internally and externally … principles internally … principles externally … principles internally and externally. What six? Relishing work, talk, sleep, and company, not guarding the sense doors, and eating too much. After giving up these six qualities you can meditate watching, again and again, an aspect of principles internally and externally.”
