A Dhamma speaker
សាវត្ថិនិទានំ។
At Sāvatthī.
ឯកមន្តំ និសិន្នោ ខោ សោ ភិក្ខុ ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោច:
Seated to one side, that bhikkhu said to the Buddha:
“‘ធម្មកថិកោ, ធម្មកថិកោៜតិ, ភន្តេ, វុច្ចតិ; កិត្តាវតា នុ ខោ, ភន្តេ, ធម្មកថិកោ ហោតី”តិ?
“Sir, they speak of a ‘Dhamma speaker’. How is a Dhamma speaker defined?”
“រូបស្ស ចេ, ភិក្ខុ, និព្ពិទាយ វិរាគាយ និរោធាយ ធម្មំ ទេសេតិ ‘ធម្មកថិកោ ភិក្ខូៜតិ អលំវចនាយ។
“Bhikkhu, if a bhikkhu teaches Dhamma for disillusionment, dispassion, and cessation regarding form, they’re qualified to be called a ‘bhikkhu who speaks on Dhamma’.
រូបស្ស ចេ, ភិក្ខុ, និព្ពិទាយ វិរាគាយ និរោធាយ បដិបន្នោ ហោតិ, ‘ធម្មានុធម្មប្បដិបន្នោ ភិក្ខូៜតិ អលំវចនាយ។
If they practice for disillusionment, dispassion, and cessation regarding form, they’re qualified to be called a ‘bhikkhu who practices in line with the teaching’.
រូបស្ស ចេ, ភិក្ខុ, និព្ពិទា វិរាគា និរោធា អនុបាទាវិមុត្តោ ហោតិ, ‘ទិដ្ឋធម្មនិព្ពានប្បត្តោ ភិក្ខូៜតិ អលំវចនាយ។
If they’re freed by not grasping by disillusionment, dispassion, and cessation regarding form, they’re qualified to be called a ‘bhikkhu who has attained Nibbana in this very life’.
វេទនាយ ចេ, ភិក្ខុ …បេ… សញ្ញាយ ចេ, ភិក្ខុ … សង្ខារានញ្ចេ, ភិក្ខុ … វិញ្ញាណស្ស ចេ, ភិក្ខុ, និព្ពិទាយ វិរាគាយ និរោធាយ ធម្មំ ទេសេតិ, ‘ធម្មកថិកោ ភិក្ខូៜតិ អលំវចនាយ។
If a bhikkhu teaches Dhamma for disillusionment with feeling … perception … functioning patterns … consciousness, for its fading away and cessation, they’re qualified to be called a ‘bhikkhu who speaks on Dhamma’.
វិញ្ញាណស្ស ចេ, ភិក្ខុ, និព្ពិទាយ វិរាគាយ និរោធាយ បដិបន្នោ ហោតិ, ‘ធម្មានុធម្មប្បដិបន្នោ ភិក្ខូៜតិ អលំវចនាយ។
If they practice for disillusionment, dispassion, and cessation regarding consciousness, they’re qualified to be called a ‘bhikkhu who practices in line with the teaching’.
វិញ្ញាណស្ស ចេ, ភិក្ខុ, និព្ពិទា វិរាគា និរោធា អនុបាទាវិមុត្តោ ហោតិ, ‘ទិដ្ឋធម្មនិព្ពានប្បត្តោ ភិក្ខូៜតិ អលំវចនាយា”តិ។
