A Bhikkhu
“สตฺตนฺนํ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺมานํ ภินฺนตฺตา ภิกฺขุ โหติฯ กตเมสํ สตฺตนฺนํ? สกฺกายทิฏฺฐิ ภินฺนา โหติ, วิจิกิจฺฉา ภินฺนา โหติ, สีลพฺพตปรามาโส ภินฺโน โหติ, ราโค ภินฺโน โหติ, โทโส ภินฺโน โหติ, โมโห ภินฺโน โหติ, มาโน ภินฺโน โหติฯ อิเมสํ โข, ภิกฺขเว, สตฺตนฺนํ ธมฺมานํ ภินฺนตฺตา ภิกฺขุ โหตี”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, it’s because of breaking seven things that you become a bhikkhu. What seven? Identity view, doubt, misapprehension of precepts and observances, greed, hate, delusion, and conceit. It’s because of breaking these seven things that you become a bhikkhu.”
