Not Giving Up
“ฉ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเม อปฺปหาย อภพฺโพ ทิฏฺฐิสมฺปทํ สจฺฉิกาตุํฯ กตเม ฉ? สกฺกายทิฏฺฐึ, วิจิกิจฺฉํ, สีลพฺพตปรามาสํ, อปายคมนียํ ราคํ, อปายคมนียํ โทสํ, อปายคมนียํ โมหํฯ อิเม โข, ภิกฺขเว, ฉ ธมฺเม อปฺปหาย อภพฺโพ ทิฏฺฐิสมฺปทํ สจฺฉิกาตุํฯ
“Bhikkhus, without giving up six things you can’t become accomplished in view. What six? Identity view, doubt, misapprehension of precepts and observances, and forms of greed, hate, and delusion that lead to rebirth in places of loss. Without giving up these six things you can’t become accomplished in view.
ฉ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเม ปหาย ภพฺโพ ทิฏฺฐิสมฺปทํ สจฺฉิกาตุํฯ กตเม ฉ? สกฺกายทิฏฺฐึ, วิจิกิจฺฉํ, สีลพฺพตปรามาสํ, อปายคมนียํ ราคํ, อปายคมนียํ โทสํ, อปายคมนียํ โมหํฯ อิเม โข, ภิกฺขเว, ฉ ธมฺเม ปหาย ภพฺโพ ทิฏฺฐิสมฺปทํ สจฺฉิกาตุนฺ”ติฯ
