វជ្ជីសុត្ត
In the Land of the Vajjis
ឯកំ សមយំ ភគវា វជ្ជីសុ វិហរតិ ហត្ថិគាមេ។ អថ ខោ ឧគ្គោ គហបតិ ហត្ថិគាមកោ យេន ភគវា តេនុបសង្កមិ; ឧបសង្កមិត្វា ឯកមន្តំ និសីទិ។ ឯកមន្តំ និសិន្នោ ខោ ឧគ្គោ គហបតិ ហត្ថិគាមកោ ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោច:
At one time the Buddha was staying in the land of the Vajjis at Elephant Village. Then the householder Ugga of Elephant Village went up to the Buddha, sat down to one side, and said to him:
“កោ នុ ខោ, ភន្តេ, ហេតុ កោ បច្ចយោ យេន ម៑ៜឥធេកច្ចេ សត្តា ទិដ្ឋេវ ធម្មេ នោ បរិនិព្ពាយន្តិ? កោ បន, ភន្តេ, ហេតុ កោ បច្ចយោ យេន ម៑ៜឥធេកច្ចេ សត្តា ទិដ្ឋេវ ធម្មេ បរិនិព្ពាយន្តី”តិ?
“What is the cause, sir, what is the reason why some sentient beings aren’t fully extinguished in the present life? What is the cause, sir, what is the reason why some sentient beings are fully extinguished in the present life?” …
(យថា បុរិមសុត្តន្តំ, ឯវំ វិត្ថារេតព្ពំ។)

“អយំ ខោ, គហបតិ, ហេតុ អយំ បច្ចយោ យេន ម៑ៜឥធេកច្ចេ សត្តា ទិដ្ឋេវ ធម្មេ បរិនិព្ពាយន្តី”តិ។
