“ตีหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ฐาเนหิ อุตฺตรกุรุกา มนุสฺสา เทเว จ ตาวตึเส อธิคฺคณฺหนฺติ ชมฺพุทีปเก จ มนุเสฺสฯ กตเมหิ ตีหิ? อมมา, อปริคฺคหา, นิยตายุกา, วิเสสคุณา—อิเมหิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ตีหิ ฐาเนหิ อุตฺตรกุรุกา มนุสฺสา เทเว จ ตาวตึเส อธิคฺคณฺหนฺติ ชมฺพุทีปเก จ มนุเสฺสฯ
“The humans of Uttarakuru surpass the Gods of the Thirty-Three and the humans of India in three particulars. What three? They’re selfless and not possessive. They have a fixed life span. They have a distinctive nature. The humans of Uttarakuru surpass the Gods of the Thirty-Three and the humans of India in these three particulars.
ตีหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ฐาเนหิ เทวา ตาวตึสา อุตฺตรกุรุเก จ มนุเสฺส อธิคฺคณฺหนฺติ ชมฺพุทีปเก จ มนุเสฺสฯ กตเมหิ ตีหิ? ทิพฺเพน อายุนา, ทิพฺเพน วณฺเณน, ทิพฺเพน สุเขน—อิเมหิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ตีหิ ฐาเนหิ เทวา ตาวตึสา อุตฺตรกุรุเก จ มนุเสฺส อธิคฺคณฺหนฺติ ชมฺพุทีปเก จ มนุเสฺสฯ
