သက္ကစ္စသုတ္တ
Honor
အထ ခေါ အာယသ္မတော သာရိပုတ္တဿ ရဟောဂတဿ ပဋိသလ္လီနဿ ဧဝံ စေတသော ပရိဝိတက္ကော ဥဒပါဒိ: “ကိံ နု ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု, သက္ကတွာ ဂရုံ ကတွာ ဥပနိဿာယ ဝိဟရန္တော အကုသလံ ပဇဟေယျ, ကုသလံ ဘာဝေယျာ”တိ?
Then as Venerable Sāriputta was in private retreat this thought came to his mind, “What should a bhikkhu honor and respect and rely on, to give up the unskillful and develop the skillful?”
အထ ခေါ အာယသ္မတော သာရိပုတ္တဿ ဧတဒဟောသိ: “သတ္ထာရံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု, သက္ကတွာ ဂရုံ ကတွာ ဥပနိဿာယ ဝိဟရန္တော အကုသလံ ပဇဟေယျ, ကုသလံ ဘာဝေယျ၊ ဓမ္မံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု …ပေ… သင်္ဃံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု …ပေ… သိက္ခံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု …ပေ… သမာဓိံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု …ပေ… အပ္ပမာဒံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု …ပေ… ပဋိသန္ထာရံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု သက္ကတွာ ဂရုံ ကတွာ ဥပနိဿာယ ဝိဟရန္တော အကုသလံ ပဇဟေယျ, ကုသလံ ဘာဝေယျာ”တိ၊
Then he thought, “A bhikkhu should honor and respect and rely on the Teacher … the teaching … the Saṅgha … the training … samādhi … diligence … A bhikkhu should honor and respect and rely on hospitality, to give up the unskillful and develop the skillful.”
အထ ခေါ အာယသ္မတော သာရိပုတ္တဿ ဧတဒဟောသိ: “ဣမေ ခေါ မေ ဓမ္မာ ပရိသုဒ္ဓါ ပရိယောဒါတာ, ယန္နူနာဟံ ဣမေ ဓမ္မေ ဂန္တွာ ဘဂဝတော အာရောစေယျံ၊ ဧဝံ မေ ဣမေ ဓမ္မာ ပရိသုဒ္ဓါ စေဝ ဘဝိဿန္တိ ပရိသုဒ္ဓသင်္ခါတတရာ စ၊ သေယျထာပိ နာမ ပုရိသော သုဝဏ္ဏနိက္ခံ အဓိဂစ္ဆေယျ ပရိသုဒ္ဓံ ပရိယောဒါတံ၊ တဿ ဧဝမဿ: ‘အယံ ခေါ မေ သုဝဏ္ဏနိက္ခော ပရိသုဒ္ဓေါ ပရိယောဒါတော, ယန္နူနာဟံ ဣမံ သုဝဏ္ဏနိက္ခံ ဂန္တွာ ကမ္မာရာနံ ဒဿေယျံ၊ ဧဝံ မေ အယံ သုဝဏ္ဏနိက္ခော သကမ္မာရဂတော ပရိသုဒ္ဓေါ စေဝ ဘဝိဿတိ ပရိသုဒ္ဓသင်္ခါတတရော စ၊ ဧဝမေဝံ မေ ဣမေ ဓမ္မာ ပရိသုဒ္ဓါ ပရိယောဒါတာ, ယန္နူနာဟံ ဣမေ ဓမ္မေ ဂန္တွာ ဘဂဝတော အာရောစေယျံ၊ ဧဝံ မေ ဣမေ ဓမ္မာ ပရိသုဒ္ဓါ စေဝ ဘဝိဿန္တိ ပရိသုဒ္ဓသင်္ခါတတရာ စာ'”တိ၊
Then he thought, “These qualities are pure and bright in me. Why don’t I go and tell them to the Buddha? Then these qualities will not only be purified in me, but will be better known as purified. Suppose a man were to acquire a gold coin, pure and bright. They’d think, ‘My gold coin is pure and bright. Why don’t I take it to show the smiths? Then it will not only be purified, but will be better known as purified.’ In the same way, these qualities are pure and bright in me. Why don’t I go and tell them to the Buddha? Then these qualities will not only be purified in me, but will be better known as purified.”
အထ ခေါ အာယသ္မာ သာရိပုတ္တော သာယနှသမယံ ပဋိသလ္လာနာ ဝုဋ္ဌိတော ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိ; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ ဘဂဝန္တံ အဘိဝါဒေတွာ ဧကမန္တံ နိသီဒိ၊ ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နော ခေါ အာယသ္မာ သာရိပုတ္တော ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
Then in the late afternoon, Sāriputta came out of retreat and went to the Buddha. He bowed, sat down to one side, and told the Buddha of his thoughts while on retreat.

“သာဓု သာဓု, သာရိပုတ္တ၊ သတ္ထာရံ ခေါ, သာရိပုတ္တ, ဘိက္ခု သက္ကတွာ ဂရုံ ကတွာ ဥပနိဿာယ ဝိဟရန္တော အကုသလံ ပဇဟေယျ, ကုသလံ ဘာဝေယျ၊ ဓမ္မံ ခေါ, သာရိပုတ္တ, ဘိက္ခု သက္ကတွာ ဂရုံ ကတွာ ဥပနိဿာယ ဝိဟရန္တော အကုသလံ ပဇဟေယျ, ကုသလံ ဘာဝေယျ၊ သင်္ဃံ ခေါ …ပေ… သိက္ခံ ခေါ … သမာဓိံ ခေါ … အပ္ပမာဒံ ခေါ … ပဋိသန္ထာရံ ခေါ, သာရိပုတ္တ, ဘိက္ခု သက္ကတွာ ဂရုံ ကတွာ ဥပနိဿာယ ဝိဟရန္တော အကုသလံ ပဇဟေယျ, ကုသလံ ဘာဝေယျာ”တိ၊
“Good, good, Sāriputta! A bhikkhu should honor and respect and rely on the Teacher, to give up the unskillful and develop the skillful. A bhikkhu should honor and respect and rely on the teaching … the Saṅgha … the training … samādhi … diligence … A bhikkhu should honor and respect and rely on hospitality, to give up the unskillful and develop the skillful.”
ဧဝံ ဝုတ္တေ, အာယသ္မာ သာရိပုတ္တော ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
When he said this, Venerable Sāriputta said to the Buddha:
“ဣမဿ ခေါ အဟံ, ဘန္တေ, ဘဂဝတာ သင်္ခိတ္တေန ဘာသိတဿ ဧဝံ ဝိတ္ထာရေန အတ္ထံ အာဇာနာမိ၊ သော ဝတ, ဘန္တေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္ထရိ အဂါရဝေါ ဓမ္မေ သဂါရဝေါ ဘဝိဿတီတိ နေတံ ဌာနံ ဝိဇ္ဇတိ၊ ယော သော, ဘန္တေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္ထရိ အဂါရဝေါ ဓမ္မေပိ သော အဂါရဝေါ၊
“Sir, this is how I understand the detailed meaning of the Buddha’s brief statement. It’s quite impossible for a bhikkhu who doesn’t respect the Teacher to respect the teaching. A bhikkhu who disrespects the Teacher disrespects the teaching.
သော ဝတ, ဘန္တေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္ထရိ အဂါရဝေါ ဓမ္မေ အဂါရဝေါ သင်္ဃေ သဂါရဝေါ ဘဝိဿတီတိ နေတံ ဌာနံ ဝိဇ္ဇတိ၊ ယော သော, ဘန္တေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္ထရိ အဂါရဝေါ ဓမ္မေ အဂါရဝေါ သင်္ဃေပိ သော အဂါရဝေါ၊
It’s quite impossible for a bhikkhu who doesn’t respect the Teacher and the teaching to respect the Saṅgha. A bhikkhu who disrespects the Teacher and the teaching disrespects the Saṅgha.
သော ဝတ, ဘန္တေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္ထရိ အဂါရဝေါ ဓမ္မေ အဂါရဝေါ သင်္ဃေ အဂါရဝေါ သိက္ခာယ သဂါရဝေါ ဘဝိဿတီတိ နေတံ ဌာနံ ဝိဇ္ဇတိ၊ ယော သော, ဘန္တေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္ထရိ အဂါရဝေါ ဓမ္မေ အဂါရဝေါ သင်္ဃေ အဂါရဝေါ သိက္ခာယပိ သော အဂါရဝေါ၊
It’s quite impossible for a bhikkhu who doesn’t respect the Teacher, the teaching, and the Saṅgha to respect the training. A bhikkhu who disrespects the Teacher, the teaching, and the Saṅgha disrespects the training.

It’s quite impossible for a bhikkhu who doesn’t respect the Teacher, the teaching, the Saṅgha, and the training to respect samādhi. A bhikkhu who disrespects the Teacher, the teaching, the Saṅgha, and the training disrespects samādhi.
သော ဝတ, ဘန္တေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္ထရိ အဂါရဝေါ ဓမ္မေ အဂါရဝေါ သင်္ဃေ အဂါရဝေါ သိက္ခာယ အဂါရဝေါ သမာဓိသ္မိံ အဂါရဝေါ အပ္ပမာဒေ သဂါရဝေါ ဘဝိဿတီတိ နေတံ ဌာနံ ဝိဇ္ဇတိ၊ ယော သော, ဘန္တေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္ထရိ အဂါရဝေါ ဓမ္မေ အဂါရဝေါ သင်္ဃေ အဂါရဝေါ သိက္ခာယ အဂါရဝေါ သမာဓိသ္မိံ အဂါရဝေါ အပ္ပမာဒေပိ သော အဂါရဝေါ၊
It’s quite impossible for a bhikkhu who doesn’t respect the Teacher, the teaching, the Saṅgha, the training, and samādhi to respect diligence. A bhikkhu who disrespects the Teacher, the teaching, the Saṅgha, the training, and samādhi disrespects diligence.

It’s quite possible for a bhikkhu who respects the Teacher to respect teaching. …

ဣမဿ ခေါ အဟံ, ဘန္တေ, ဘဂဝတာ သင်္ခိတ္တေန ဘာသိတဿ ဧဝံ ဝိတ္ထာရေန အတ္ထံ အာဇာနာမီ”တိ၊
That’s how I understand the detailed meaning of the Buddha’s brief statement.”
“သာဓု သာဓု, သာရိပုတ္တ၊ သာဓု ခေါ တွံ, သာရိပုတ္တ, ဣမဿ မယာ သင်္ခိတ္တေန ဘာသိတဿ ဧဝံ ဝိတ္ထာရေန အတ္ထံ အာဇာနာသိ၊
“Good, good, Sāriputta! It’s good that you understand the detailed meaning of what I’ve said in brief like this.
