Greed
“ตโยเม, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺมาฯ กตเม ตโย? ราโค, โทโส, โมโหฯ อิเม โข, ภิกฺขเว, ตโย ธมฺมาฯ อิเมสํ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ติณฺณํ ธมฺมานํ ปหานาย ตโย ธมฺมา ภาเวตพฺพาฯ กตเม ตโย? ราคสฺส ปหานาย อสุภา ภาเวตพฺพา, โทสสฺส ปหานาย เมตฺตา ภาเวตพฺพา, โมหสฺส ปหานาย ปญฺญา ภาเวตพฺพาฯ อิเมสํ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ติณฺณํ ธมฺมานํ ปหานาย อิเม ตโย ธมฺมา ภาเวตพฺพา”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, there are these three things. What three? Greed, hate, and delusion. These are the three things. To give up these three things you should develop three things. What three? You should develop the perception of ugliness to give up greed, love to give up hate, and wisdom to give up delusion. These are the three things you should develop to give up those three things.”
