“ปญฺจิมา, ภิกฺขเว, สญฺญา ภาวิตา พหุลีกตา มหปฺผลา โหนฺติ มหานิสํสา อมโตคธา อมตปริโยสานาฯ กตมา ปญฺจ? อสุภสญฺญา, มรณสญฺญา, อาทีนวสญฺญา, อาหาเร ปฏิกูลสญฺญา, สพฺพโลเก อนภิรตสญฺญา—อิมา โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจ สญฺญา ภาวิตา พหุลีกตา มหปฺผลา โหนฺติ มหานิสํสา อมโตคธา อมตปริโยสานา”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, these five perceptions, when developed and cultivated, are very fruitful and beneficial. They culminate in the deathless and end with the deathless. What five? The perceptions of ugliness, death, drawbacks, repulsiveness of food, and dissatisfaction with the whole world. These five perceptions, when developed and cultivated, are very fruitful and beneficial. They culminate in the deathless and end with the deathless.”
