ปญฺจหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ทุลฺลโภ วุฑฺฒปพฺพชิโตฯ กตเมหิ ปญฺจหิ? ทุลฺลโภ, ภิกฺขเว, วุฑฺฒปพฺพชิโต สุวโจ, ทุลฺลโภ สุคฺคหิตคฺคาหี, ทุลฺลโภ ปทกฺขิณคฺคาหี, ทุลฺลโภ ธมฺมกถิโก, ทุลฺลโภ วินยธโรฯ อิเมหิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจหิ ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ทุลฺลโภ วุฑฺฒปพฺพชิโต”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, it’s hard to find someone gone forth when old who has five qualities. What five? It’s hard to find someone gone forth when old who is easy to admonish, retains what they learn, and learns respectfully, who can teach the Dhamma, and has memorized the monastic law. It’s hard to find someone gone forth when old who has these five qualities.”
