The Spiritual Path (1st)
សាវត្ថិនិទានំ។
At Sāvatthī.
“ព្រហ្មចរិយញ្ច វោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ទេសេស្សាមិ, ព្រហ្មចរិយផលានិ ច។ តំ សុណាថ។
“Bhikkhus, I will teach you the spiritual path and the fruits of the spiritual path. Listen …
កតមញ្ច, ភិក្ខវេ, ព្រហ្មចរិយំ? អយមេវ អរិយោ អដ្ឋង្គិកោ មគ្គោ, សេយ្យថិទំ—សម្មាទិដ្ឋិ …បេ… សម្មាសមាធិ។ ឥទំ វុច្ចតិ, ភិក្ខវេ, ព្រហ្មចរិយំ។
And what is the spiritual path? It is simply this noble eightfold path, that is: right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samādhi. This is called the spiritual path.
កតមានិ ច, ភិក្ខវេ, ព្រហ្មចរិយផលានិ? សោតាបត្តិផលំ, សកទាគាមិផលំ, អនាគាមិផលំ, អរហត្តផលំ—ឥមានិ វុច្ចន្តិ, ភិក្ខវេ, ព្រហ្មចរិយផលានី”តិ។
And what are the fruits of the spiritual path? The fruits of stream-entry, once-return, non-return, and perfection. These are called the fruits of the spiritual path.”
