With Nandaka the Licchavi
ဧကံ သမယံ ဘဂဝါ ဝေသာလိယံ ဝိဟရတိ မဟာဝနေ ကူဋာဂါရသာလာယံ၊ အထ ခေါ နန္ဒကော လိစ္ဆဝိမဟာမတ္တော ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိ; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ ဘဂဝန္တံ အဘိဝါဒေတွာ ဧကမန္တံ နိသီဒိ၊ ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နံ ခေါ နန္ဒကံ လိစ္ဆဝိမဟာမတ္တံ ဘဂဝါ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
At one time the Buddha was staying near Vesālī, at the Great Wood, in the hall with the peaked roof. Then Nandaka the Licchavi minister went up to the Buddha, bowed, and sat down to one side. The Buddha said to him:
“စတူဟိ ခေါ, နန္ဒက, ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော အရိယသာဝကော သောတာပန္နော ဟောတိ အဝိနိပါတဓမ္မော နိယတော သမ္ဗောဓိပရာယဏော၊ ကတမေဟိ စတူဟိ? ဣဓ, နန္ဒက, အရိယသာဝကော ဗုဒ္ဓေ အဝေစ္စပ္ပသာဒေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ—ဣတိပိ သော ဘဂဝါ …ပေ… သတ္ထာ ဒေဝမနုဿာနံ ဗုဒ္ဓေါ ဘဂဝါတိ၊ ဓမ္မေ …ပေ… သင်္ဃေ …ပေ… အရိယကန္တေဟိ သီလေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ အခဏ္ဍေဟိ …ပေ… သမာဓိသံဝတ္တနိကေဟိ၊ ဣမေဟိ ခေါ, နန္ဒက, စတူဟိ ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော အရိယသာဝကော သောတာပန္နော ဟောတိ အဝိနိပါတဓမ္မော နိယတော သမ္ဗောဓိပရာယဏော၊
“Nandaka, a noble disciple who has four things is a stream-enterer, not liable to be reborn in the underworld, bound for awakening. What four? It’s when a noble disciple has experiential confidence in the Buddha … the teaching … the Saṅgha … And they have the ethical conduct loved by the noble ones … leading to samādhi. A noble disciple who has these four things is a stream-enterer, not liable to be reborn in the underworld, bound for awakening.
ဣမေဟိ စ ပန, နန္ဒက, စတူဟိ ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော အရိယသာဝကော အာယုနာ သံယုတ္တော ဟောတိ ဒိဗ္ဗေနပိ မာနုသေနပိ; ဝဏ္ဏေန သံယုတ္တော ဟောတိ ဒိဗ္ဗေနပိ မာနုသေနပိ; သုခေန သံယုတ္တော ဟောတိ ဒိဗ္ဗေနပိ မာနုသေနပိ; ယသေန သံယုတ္တော ဟောတိ ဒိဗ္ဗေနပိ မာနုသေနပိ; အာဓိပတေယျေန သံယုတ္တော ဟောတိ ဒိဗ္ဗေနပိ မာနုသေနပိ၊ တံ ခေါ ပနာဟံ, နန္ဒက, နာညဿ သမဏဿ ဝါ ဗြာဟ္မဏဿ ဝါ သုတွာ ဝဒါမိ၊ အပိ စ ယဒေဝ မယာ သာမံ ဉာတံ သာမံ ဒိဋ္ဌံ သာမံ ဝိဒိတံ, တဒေဝါဟံ ဝဒါမီ”တိ၊
A noble disciple who has these four things is guaranteed long life, beauty, happiness, fame, and sovereignty, both human and divine. Now, I don’t say this because I’ve heard it from some other ascetic or brahmin. I only say it because I’ve known, seen, and realized it for myself.”
ဧဝံ ဝုတ္တေ, အညတရော ပုရိသော နန္ဒကံ လိစ္ဆဝိမဟာမတ္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
When he had spoken, a certain person said to Nandaka:
“နဟာနကာလော, ဘန္တေ”တိ၊
“Sir, it is time to bathe.”
“အလံ ဒါနိ, ဘဏေ, ဧတေန ဗာဟိရေန နဟာနေန၊ အလမိဒံ အဇ္ဈတ္တံ နဟာနံ ဘဝိဿတိ, ယဒိဒံ—ဘဂဝတိ ပသာဒေါ”တိ၊
“Enough now, my man, with that exterior bath. This interior bathing will do for me, that is, confidence in the Buddha.”

သရဏာနိဝဂ္ဂေါ တတိယော၊
တဿုဒ္ဒါနံ
မဟာနာမေန ဒွေ ဝုတ္တာ, ဂေါဓာ စ သရဏာ ဒုဝေ; ဒုဝေ အနာထပိဏ္ဍိကာ, ဒုဝေ ဝေရဘယေန စ; လိစ္ဆဝီ ဒသမော ဝုတ္တော, ဝဂ္ဂေါ တေန ပဝုစ္စတီတိ၊
