The Exterior as Impermanent
“រូបា, ភិក្ខវេ, អនិច្ចា។ យទនិច្ចំ តំ ទុក្ខំ; យំ ទុក្ខំ តទនត្តា។ យទនត្តា តំ ‘នេតំ មម, នេសោហមស្មិ, ន មេសោ អត្តាៜតិ ឯវមេតំ យថាភូតំ សម្មប្បញ្ញាយ ទដ្ឋព្ពំ។
“Bhikkhus, sights are impermanent. What’s impermanent is suffering. What’s suffering is not-self. And what’s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’
សទ្ទា … គន្ធា … រសា … ផោដ្ឋព្ពា … ធម្មា អនិច្ចា។ យទនិច្ចំ តំ ទុក្ខំ; យំ ទុក្ខំ តទនត្តា។ យទនត្តា តំ ‘នេតំ មម, នេសោហមស្មិ, ន មេសោ អត្តាៜតិ ឯវមេតំ យថាភូតំ សម្មប្បញ្ញាយ ទដ្ឋព្ពំ។
Sounds, smells, tastes, touches, and thoughts are impermanent. What’s impermanent is suffering. What’s suffering is not-self. And what’s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’
ឯវំ បស្សំ, ភិក្ខវេ, សុតវា អរិយសាវកោ រូបេសុបិ និព្ពិន្ទតិ, សទ្ទេសុបិ និព្ពិន្ទតិ, គន្ធេសុបិ និព្ពិន្ទតិ, រសេសុបិ និព្ពិន្ទតិ, ផោដ្ឋព្ពេសុបិ និព្ពិន្ទតិ, ធម្មេសុបិ និព្ពិន្ទតិ។ និព្ពិន្ទំ វិរជ្ជតិ; វិរាគា វិមុច្ចតិ; វិមុត្តស្មិំ វិមុត្តមិតិ ញាណំ ហោតិ។
Seeing this, a learned noble disciple grows disillusioned with sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touches, and thoughts. Being disillusioned, desire fades away. When desire fades away they’re freed. When they’re freed, they know they’re freed.
‘ខីណា ជាតិ, វុសិតំ ព្រហ្មចរិយំ, កតំ ករណីយំ, នាបរំ ឥត្ថត្តាយាៜតិ បជានាតី”តិ។
They understand: ‘Rebirth is ended, the spiritual journey has been completed, what had to be done has been done, there is no return to any state of existence.’”
