1. At Wares Village
အနုဗုဒ္ဓသုတ္တ

ဧဝံ မေ သုတံ—ဧကံ သမယံ ဘဂဝါ ဝဇ္ဇီသု ဝိဟရတိ ဘဏ္ဍဂါမေ၊ တတြ ခေါ ဘဂဝါ ဘိက္ခူ အာမန္တေသိ: “ဘိက္ခဝေါ”တိ၊
So I have heard. At one time the Buddha was staying in the land of the Vajjis at Wares Village. There the Buddha addressed the bhikkhus, “Bhikkhus!”
“ဘဒန္တေ”တိ တေ ဘိက္ခူ ဘဂဝတော ပစ္စဿောသုံ၊ ဘဂဝါ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
“Venerable sir,” they replied. The Buddha said this:
“စတုန္နံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဓမ္မာနံ အနနုဗောဓာ အပ္ပဋိဝေဓာ ဧဝမိဒံ ဒီဃမဒ္ဓါနံ သန္ဓာဝိတံ သံသရိတံ မမဉ္စေဝ တုမှာကဉ္စ၊ ကတမေသံ စတုန္နံ? အရိယဿ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သီလဿ အနနုဗောဓာ အပ္ပဋိဝေဓာ ဧဝမိဒံ ဒီဃမဒ္ဓါနံ သန္ဓာဝိတံ သံသရိတံ မမဉ္စေဝ တုမှာကဉ္စ၊ အရိယဿ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သမာဓိဿ အနနုဗောဓာ အပ္ပဋိဝေဓာ ဧဝမိဒံ ဒီဃမဒ္ဓါနံ သန္ဓာဝိတံ သံသရိတံ မမဉ္စေဝ တုမှာကဉ္စ၊ အရိယာယ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပညာယ အနနုဗောဓာ အပ္ပဋိဝေဓာ ဧဝမိဒံ ဒီဃမဒ္ဓါနံ သန္ဓာဝိတံ သံသရိတံ မမဉ္စေဝ တုမှာကဉ္စ၊ အရိယာယ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဝိမုတ္တိယာ အနနုဗောဓာ အပ္ပဋိဝေဓာ ဧဝမိဒံ ဒီဃမဒ္ဓါနံ သန္ဓာဝိတံ သံသရိတံ မမဉ္စေဝ တုမှာကဉ္စ၊ တယိဒံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အရိယံ သီလံ အနုဗုဒ္ဓံ ပဋိဝိဒ္ဓံ, အရိယော သမာဓိ အနုဗုဒ္ဓေါ ပဋိဝိဒ္ဓေါ, အရိယာ ပညာ အနုဗုဒ္ဓါ ပဋိဝိဒ္ဓါ, အရိယာ ဝိမုတ္တိ အနုဗုဒ္ဓါ ပဋိဝိဒ္ဓါ, ဥစ္ဆိန္နာ ဘဝတဏှာ, ခီဏာ ဘဝနေတ္တိ, နတ္ထိ ဒါနိ ပုနဗ္ဘဝေါ”တိ၊
“Bhikkhus, due to not understanding and not penetrating four things, both you and I have wandered and transmigrated for such a very long time. What four? Noble ethics, samādhi, wisdom, and freedom. These noble ethics, samādhi, wisdom, and freedom have been understood and comprehended. Craving for continued existence has been cut off; the conduit to rebirth is ended; now there’ll be no more future lives.”
ဣဒမဝေါစ ဘဂဝါ၊ ဣဒံ ဝတွာန သုဂတော အထာပရံ ဧတဒဝေါစ သတ္ထာ:
That is what the Buddha said. Then the Holy One, the Teacher, went on to say:
“သီလံ သမာဓိ ပညာ စ, ဝိမုတ္တိ စ အနုတ္တရာ; အနုဗုဒ္ဓါ ဣမေ ဓမ္မာ, ဂေါတမေန ယသဿိနာ၊
“Ethics, samādhi, and wisdom, and the supreme freedom: these things have been understood by Gotama the renowned.
ဣတိ ဗုဒ္ဓေါ အဘိညာယ, ဓမ္မမက္ခာသိ ဘိက္ခုနံ; ဒုက္ခဿန္တကရော သတ္ထာ, စက္ခုမာ ပရိနိဗ္ဗုတော”တိ၊
And so the Buddha, having insight, explained this teaching to the bhikkhus. The teacher made an end of suffering, seeing clearly, he is extinguished.”
