“จตฺตาโรเม, ภิกฺขเว, โยคาฯ กตเม จตฺตาโร? กามโยโค, ภวโยโค, ทิฏฺฐิโยโค อวิชฺชาโยโค—อิเม โข, ภิกฺขเว, จตฺตาโร โยคาฯ
“Bhikkhus, there are these four yokes. What four? The yokes of sensual pleasures, future lives, views, and ignorance. These are the four yokes.
อิเมสํ โข, ภิกฺขเว, จตุนฺนํ โยคานํ อภิญฺญาย ปริญฺญาย ปริกฺขยาย ปหานาย …เป… อยํ อริโย อฏฺฐงฺคิโก มคฺโค ภาเวตพฺโพ”ติฯ
The noble eightfold path should be developed for the direct knowledge, complete understanding, finishing, and giving up of these four yokes.”
