អថ ខោ អញ្ញតរោ ភិក្ខុ យេន ភគវា តេនុបសង្កមិ; ឧបសង្កមិត្វា ភគវន្តំ អភិវាទេត្វា ឯកមន្តំ និសីទិ។ ឯកមន្តំ និសិន្នោ ខោ សោ ភិក្ខុ ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោច:
Then a bhikkhu went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and said to him:
“‘ឥន្ទ្រិយសម្បន្នោ, ឥន្ទ្រិយសម្បន្នោៜតិ, ភន្តេ, វុច្ចតិ។ កិត្តាវតា នុ ខោ, ភន្តេ, ឥន្ទ្រិយសម្បន្នោ ហោតី”តិ?
“Sir, they speak of someone who is ‘accomplished regarding the faculties’. How is someone accomplished regarding the faculties defined?”
“ឥធ, ភិក្ខុ, ភិក្ខុ សទ្ធិន្ទ្រិយំ ភាវេតិ ឧបសមគាមិំ សម្ពោធគាមិំ, វីរិយិន្ទ្រិយំ ភាវេតិ ឧបសមគាមិំ សម្ពោធគាមិំ, សតិន្ទ្រិយំ ភាវេតិ ឧបសមគាមិំ សម្ពោធគាមិំ, សមាធិន្ទ្រិយំ ភាវេតិ ឧបសមគាមិំ សម្ពោធគាមិំ, បញ្ញិន្ទ្រិយំ ភាវេតិ ឧបសមគាមិំ សម្ពោធគាមិំ។ ឯត្តាវតា ខោ, ភិក្ខុ, ភិក្ខុ ឥន្ទ្រិយសម្បន្នោ ហោតី”តិ។
“Bhikkhu, it’s when a bhikkhu develops the faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, samādhi, and wisdom that lead to peace and awakening. This is how someone who is accomplished regarding the faculties is defined.”
