A documentary film by BOGDAN-FLORIN PAUL | AUGUST 18, 2025
The famous Vulture's Peak, Griddhakuta, also known as Gṛidhrakūṭa (in Sanskrit) and Gijjhakūṭa (in Pāli), was one of the Buddha's favorite meditation places.
It is a secluded place, high on a hill, with a magnifiscent view of the surrounding terrain, and at that time it was within easy walking distance to Rājagṛiha, or Rājagaha in Pāli, the capital of the Magadha kingdom.
Located near the modern city of Rajgir, Bihar, India, it is an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists from all over the world.
The atmosphere of this place where Buddha, 2,500 years ago, used to sit in samadhi, is absolutely charming.
Vulture's Peak is a must-see for all meditation lovers visiting India.
